Job description

REPORTS TO:          Biomedical Lead

 

The Biomedical Technician provides support for biomedical research and activities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in the design, fabrication and testing of advanced biomedical devices
  • Conducts basic      laboratory biological research in accordance with stipulated protocols and      quality and safety standards.
  • Analyzes data,      prepares and maintains reports, research findings, summaries, logs, and      notes, and develops statistical results of research.
  • Prepares      research findings and supporting data for peer journal publication, oral      presentation, or other dissemination and archiving.
  • Performs general lab duties as required such as      washing dishes, preparing culture media, autoclaving lab ware, cleaning      lab areas, taking inventory of supplies, preparing various solutions     
  • Manages      various aspects of laboratory including chemical and supply inventories,      MSDS forms.

 

 

Desired Skills and Experience

BACKGROUND

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 68W, 18D, Naval Special Warfare Medic, etc., training with deployment/battlefield experience
  • Interest in career in technology development, testing and evaluation
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with DoD and commercial customers and partners
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
