Job description

As a Project Completions Manager, you will be responsible for the planning and safe execution of commissioning and start-up activities within a capital Project team. The Project Completions manager will ultimately ensure that new or modified facilities or assets are commissioned and started up safely and on time, and comply with the project integrity and assurance requirements to achieve the agreed operating performance targets. The Project Completions Manager shall further ensure a smooth and flawless handover from the Project to the Asset Operations Manager.

Initially the role will commence either at fabrication site or engineering site where you will provide input to the project team and develop the project Completions philosophy, Completions strategy and initial plans. It is expected that the role will provide Completions expertise to the project team, ensuring that all design decisions and the development of the project execution plans are fully aligned with the objectives of achieving safe commissioning and a flawless start-up. The Project Completions Manager shall lead the execution of Completions activities from construction through to final handover to Operations.

The Project Completions Managers role is a key role that provides a critical interface between the project phase and the operations phase, and supports the Operations Readiness objective of ensuring that new or modified facilities are built to meet the future needs of the operator.

Responsibilities:

• Definition and development of the project completions/commissioning and start-up philosophy and strategy, and various levels of Completions plans;

• Selection of suitably qualified and experienced personnel to staff the Completions Team;

• Ensuring Completions risks are identified and necessary mitigation plans are in place, where required;

•Advising on Contract strategy and staffing models for integrated Completions teams, and potentially managing a subcontractor Completions team;

•Developing, implementing and maintaining a Commissioning & Completions; Management System, including punch list management and TQ interface;

•Defining inspection and testing requirements relating to Mechanical Completion and Pre-commissioning;

•Defining vendor representative support requirements, time schedule and cost forecast;

  Development and tracking of Project Completions schedule.

•Interfacing with engineering, procurement and construction groups regarding commissioning priorities and resolution of site queries;

•Implementing and managing Change Control procedures during commissioning;

•Managing Health, Safety and Environmental aspects relating to commissioning activities, in partnership with project and site construction managers;

•Preparation of “as-commissioned" documentation to facilitate the handover of systems from construction, through commissioning and into operations.

Desired Skills and Experience

Requirements:

•Engineering Degree preferred.

•Extensive experience in an EPIC environment, preferably within senior Completions roles;

•Minimum of 15 years of experience is required;

•A strong focus on the development of HSE awareness and HSE management is essential;

•You will have proven competency in multi-disciplinary construction, maintenance and operations activities, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and a sound knowledge of project delivery processes;

•You will have a broad understanding of the EPC business, and be able to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
