Current Need

Our Managed Services IT Outsourcing team has a current need for a hands-on, technical manager that will spend time at multiple locations including, but not limited to, Jersey City and Secausus, NJ.  This position will have heavy client interaction as well as management responsibilities for a team of more than ten people.   

Position Description

May analyze the needs of the company or functional departments and establish priorities for feasibility studies, systems design and implementation to develop new and/or modify the company's information systems.  May collect system requirements, techniques, and controls.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to analysis, selection and modification of application software, installation of hardware and software, database management and integrity.  Generally requires subject matter knowledge of a user group for practical application of system characteristics.

The Technical Support Manager facilitates the collaboration of the Technical group with other areas of the Information Services Department as well as with key stakeholders in the hospital. 

This position will have management responsibility for the following functions:

  • Desktop Support
  • DataCenter
  • All Server Hardware and Peripherals
  • Hardware Pprocurement
  • Internal/ External Network
  • New Technology Evaluation, Protocol Development and Implementation
  • Must have hospital experience 

Minimum Requirements 4+ years specific systems experience including 2+ years managerial experience Critical Skills

Five or more years of management experience in three or more of the following functional areas:

  • Desktop Support
  • Data Center
  • All Server Hardware and peripherals
  • Hardware Procurement
  • Internal/External Network
  • New Technology Evaluation, Protocol Development and Implementation

Experience upgrading a network and/or relocating a data center a plus.

Experience managing both people and technical functions.  Must be able to "deep dive" into technical issues and assist the team in problem resolution.

Previous experience in a client-facing role strongly preferred.

Nortel Network, Citrix/ Citrix Manager, EMC, VM ware helpful. 

 

Education

4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience Physical Requirements
