Donaldson Company Inc. (NYSE: DCI), a global leader in Filtration Solutions, has an immediate need for a Learning & Development Specialist.  This position is part-time, 20 hours per week with flexible day hours, and will be based at our corporate office in Bloomington, MN.


The Learning & Development Specialist will facilitate the logistics of internal and external training programs (material production, distribution, meeting and event scheduling and management, and reporting) and initiate and maintain a quarterly training calendar.  This position works collaboratively with the global Learning & Development team to provide support and consistency to initiatives including training programs, performance management, succession planning, talent management, mentoring, and leadership development.


The candidate who will thrive in this role has a natural ability to:

  • Represent team with high level of knowledge, collaboration and customer service.
  • Serve as a liaison for external training vendors by coordinating facilitator arrangements and materials, on-site support and follow-up.
  • Research best practices for development programs and concepts, and gather data on learning related topics.
  • Track department budget and process invoices (including charge backs) .
  • Manage all aspects of Tuition Cost Sharing and Accelerated Degree programs.
  • Support learning activities such as development assessments, coaching and mentoring programs.
  • Initiate process improvements with limited direction.

Desired Skills and Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years of experience managing projects, organizing processes and handling detailed information.  Experience in a learning, development and/or training environment a plus. 


  • Strong computer skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Access and SharePoint/web design and the desire to proactively learn new technologies beneficial to the learning function.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across geographies, functions and levels.
  • Action orientation with a demonstrated proactive approach.
  • Excellent project management and prioritization skills.
  • Resourcefulness and the ability to embrace new ideas, tools and concepts.
  • Trustworthy with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
