Department Overview:
Through providing users with the right results in the right place and at the right time, Yahoo! Search Marketing aims to provide the most relevant search experience in the marketplace Working closely with key advertisers and agencies we assist them in maximising their return on adverting spend through accurate customer targeting, strategic campaign planning and optimisation, industry knowledge and expertise and budget management. The team of is divided into Account Director groups which are aligned with key clients and advertisers to enable us to provide industry leading customer service and support.
The GST Head of Search Account Management reports to the Director of Account Management Team and will focus on running the GST Search Account Management team who are responsible for up selling to existing advertisers, and targeting new clients.
You will play a pivotal role in the revenue generating capacity of Yahoo! Your role will be to maximise revenue coming into Yahoo! from Global Advertisers.
  • Produce accurate and timely reports and forecasts as required by the Director of Account Management
  • Global Advertisers will be the mainstay of the role but an understanding of account ‘touch points’ will be critical. Aiming to sell multi level (across different teams) in order to establish multiple levels of contact by client
  • Work on key business relevant projects, communicate benefits effectively with senior management and externally to the market ( Search Alliance)
  • Understand the need for interdependency: The ability to work with others across Operations, Client Services, Strategy and Planning is essential
  • Manage and lead a group, with diverse skills and experience, to maximise search revenues whist working at optimum performance
  • Assist in setting both revenue and personal targets for the team, ensure relevant departments have the required market information to assist them in forecasting accurate revenue targets
  • Develop and coach the group on a day to day basis for the ever increasing budgets and targets of Yahoo!
  • Arrange and chair team meetings, feedback on performance and provide clear and concise guidance as to what is required moving forward.
  • Being a point of contact or escalation with the AM team. Assisting with problem solving, general initiatives and management of the team ADs and AMs
  • Ongoing use of face-to-face meetings, telephone and any other means to communicate value and unique power of the Yahoo! brand – communication is key, the management of expectations paramount and the reliance on email frowned upon
  • Building better knowledge with an ability to be critical of own work – a desire to keep improving. Always on the look out for information, developments and market news
  • Building and managing an active sales pipeline to ensure that revenue targets will be met
  • Being solely responsible for a personal development project within the team with a view to adding value to or improving the systems and processes of for the benefit of Yahoo!
  • Represents Yahoo! at events/ seminars relevant to client industry

· Takes responsibility for own development. Pro-actively volunteers in projects designed to stretch skills Inducts, trains and supports new staff
· Ensures staff adhere to corporate policy in business dealings
· Manages the people resources for delivery and maintains headcount against budget
· Performance management of team, including conducting annual performance reviews Holds regular team and 1:1 meetings and ensures effective communication within the team
· Manages the performance of all staff and ensures that there is a qualitative element to all work by reviewing proposals and accompanying meetings
· Leads by example. Always aim to provide excellent service and maximize revenue
Role Requirements

  • Previous management and international experiences are required
  • Must be able to perform in a fast-paced highly changing marketplace and be driven to meet and exceed revenue targets

  • A people’s person who gains respect within the business, from a proven standpoint

· Experience of Internet advertising with a good understanding of the Internet and an understanding of the Search Marketing business model is required
· Goal oriented with experience developing new business and within existing accounts, working on own initiative as well as being a solid team player
· Excellent sales skills with the ability to open doors and communicate effectively with senior decision makers in target companies
· Experience managing a large client base
· Ability to deliver above expectation results
· Excellent organizational skills and computer proficiency
