Job description

Reporting to the Director of Professional Services within Professional Services, this person will be required to provide professional hands-on implementation and technical advice to colleagues, partners, and customers to ensure the successful implementation of SDL Campaign Management and Analytics based solutions.

 

The role requires experience in the design and configuration of Marketing Database solutions. The applicant must have an understanding of Marketing Customer Databases, Campaign processes and concepts such as segmentation and selection. The applicant must also have high skills in Requirements Gathering and Data Modeling in order to match Marketing requirements with a database design to achieve those requirements.

 

This role requires a self-starting capable team player with business and IT skills. They must be able to work in a professional manner with clients and at all times remain focused on key Professional Services goals, primarily, financial effectiveness and client satisfaction. They shall ensure the adoption of best practice and core product functionality to deliver clients requirements.

 

The consultant may be required to work on multiple projects, possibly across multiple time zones in a lead and/or technical role providing advice and guidance to multiple customers and partners at the same time. They must be an organized project all-rounder, as comfortable writing data processing routines scripts as they are resolving technical or business issues.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • · Play a leading role in the gathering of a customer’s requirements, and subsequently document these findings.
  • · Effective delivery of SDL projects, adopting responsibility key project tasks or solution areas
  • · Produce key project documentation as required.
  • · Provide technical expertise and support to clients and partners
  • · Ongoing awareness and mitigation of implementation issues and risks and reporting them to an SDL / Client Project   Manager where applicable.
  • · Keep track of time spent and project progress by way of regular timesheet entry
  • · Provide constructive feedback and support for ongoing improvement of the development of SDL products.
  • · Ensure knowledge transfer occurs that enables the client / partner to further develop the SDL solution.
  • · Be commercially aware to deliver within budget and in accordance with documented expectations.

Technical skills

Essential

  • · Comprehensive knowledge of CRM or Campaign Management solutions and functions and operational components
  • · A minimum of 4 years of industry experience with Marketing Database Solutions
  • · Minimum of 2 years work experience with relational databases solutions
  • · Experience in the formal capture and documentation of requirements
  • · Experience in database design and data analysis tools
  • · Understanding of software development processes, languages and tools.
  • · Experience of data processing and management operation
  • · Good understanding of Windows operating systems and file systems

Desirable

  • · Knowledge of SDL Campaign Management and analytics products
  • · Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server data processing and administration tasks
  • · Knowledge of data modeling processing and packages
  • · Knowledge of database reporting packages
  • · Experience in software solution design and implementation
  • · Data warehouse design experience

Personal skills and experience

Essential

  • · Excellent written English and verbal communication skills
  • · Highly professional appearance, and the natural ability to command presence
  • · Strong interpersonal skills and the natural ability to communicate effectively internally and externally, and develop relationships, with both technical and non-technical personnel and in a confident and friendly manner.
  • · A self starter and resourceful in terms of finishing tasks and responsibilities without monitoring.
  • · National and International travel may be required, and sometimes at short notice. Therefore the candidate must be comfortable with project locations sometimes being away from their base office working at client locations
  • · The ability and desire to learn new technologies and quickly become competent in this field.

Desirable

  • · Proficient in other languages
