Job description

Job Duties:

- Working with partner companies to drive performance optimizations for AMD heterogeneous computing platforms into hypervisors and open source operating systems.
- Drive early adoption of AMD developer tools and SDKs
- Become expert user of performance-centric AMD developer software
- Provide technical consultancy to strategic and partner development engagements
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, QA, software and hardware engineering, and provide inputs for prioritization of features and fixes in software releases
- Evangelize AMD Developer Solutions by creating conference presentations, seminars, papers, patents, samples, and other collateral

Desired Skills and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

- Graduate engineering degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- 5 years of experience, or more
- Strong technical skills in software product development using C / C++ in Windows and Linux environments
- Significant experience with hypervisor / virtual-machine internals (e.g.: VMware, Xen, etc.)
- Experience in GPU computing (e.g.: OpenCL, CUDA, DirectCompute, GPGPU, GPU shaders)
- Experience in x86 and x86-64 assembly language, SSE and AVX extensions
- Experience contributing to open source software development projects, including Linux kernel
- Experience in customer facing roles
- Excellent verbal/written communication and evangelizing skills with an entrepreneurial spirit to drive results
- Adaptable to changing business requirements including ability to implement quick decisions based on business relevance and company priorities
- Ability to quickly learn new skills and drive completion of business goals
- Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure) is a plus
- Experience in 3D graphics programming using D3D and/or OpenGL is a plus
- Experience in benchmarking is a plus
- Experience working in a multi-site environment and ability to travel as needed to meet with developers
- A team player, who is very self motivated, loves difficult challenges, and is goal driven
