Job description

The Principal Electrical/Acoustics Engineer will lead and design broadband transducers for defense and commercial customers. Position requires a strong technical leader with the ability to develop transducers from product concept through development to production. Must be a hands-on leader and will have responsibilities for an interdisciplinary development team, taking an active technical and program leadership role in developing world class acoustic transducers. Utilizing technical knowledge, understanding of engineering, extensive experience in acoustic product development, and critical listening skills to conceive, design, prototype, test, and deliver outstanding products that exceed our customers expectations. Will report to VP of Engineering.

Desired Skills and Experience

-Transducer qualification, design, and manufacturing.
- Translate customer requirements into acoustic design options.
- Evaluate design options through comprehensive computer modeling and extensive measurements on physical prototypes.
- Acoustical data measurement and analysis.
- Provide technical and program leadership for small and large technology development programs.
- Work with Business Development to obtain new business.
- Write proposals and create schedules and budgets.
- Write technical reports and present technical progress to customers.
- Provide mentoring to junior staff.
- Support manufacturing startup and continuous engineering. improvement for transducer products. 

-Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or Acoustics.
- More than 10 years of relevant experience.
- Proven track record developing high quality acoustic products.
- Perform modeling and analysis of acoustic transducers.
- Familiarity with MathCad, MatLab, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Working knowledge of acoustic testing and calibration.
- Knowledge of signal conditioning and signal processing electronics a plus.
- Experience creating and executing technical plans including schedules and budgets.
- Ability to work comfortably with peers, subordinates, management, and customers.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Comfortable with reading and writing detailed technical specifications.
- Ability to prepare drawings/documentation for work for engineering and manufacturing.
- Willingness to innovate and stretch the envelope of the current state-of- the-art.
- Must have high initiative, be self-motivated, and have ability to act independently to resolve issues on highly technical matters.
- U.S. Citizen and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
