Communication Division seeks experienced software designer with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) background for implementation of advanced programmable communications waveform technology into GPP and DSP designs. The candidate will design and implement complex digital communications and signal processing functions. The candidate will work closely with System Engineering and Software Engineering to implement complex digital communications and signal processing functions. Candidates must have excellent initiative, communication and technical skills. Position requires technical contributions.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, a related field, or the equivalent experience is required. Advanced degree preferred. In addition, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required, 12 years is preferred.

Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance, and U.S. Citizenship is required.

Require a BS or higher Degree (MS preferred) with course work in Signal Processing (e.g. Comm Theory, Information Theory, Fourier Transforms, FEC Coding,….), plus 10 years demonstrated results in the design of digital and circuitry implementing digital communications functions for fielded products. Wireless data design experience is a plus, as well as experience in modem design of cellular handsets, general software defined radio design, and military radios. The applicant must have an extensive background in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) implementing Modulators, Demodulators, Filters, Encoders, Decoders in Digital Signal Processors base solutions. The candidate must have practical experience with digital design, DSP design and analysis tools such as MATLAB and SIMULINK. The candidate must be capable of implementing solutions using either fixed point or floating point math for the signal processing design. Experience with Texas Instruments Digital Signal Processors base solutions and TI BIOs is preferred. Experience with OFDM, CDMA, WCDMA, TDMA, PN Spreading, Frequency hopping signals in space (SiS) and media access (MAC) development is also preferred. Experience translating system engineering generated algorithms and approaches into functioning DSP designs. Experience coordinating with system, and software engineers. Applicant must be a US Citizen, must be able to travel 10% of the time, must be capable of obtaining a US Security Clearance and must be able to pass an extended background investigation (EBI).
