POSITION SUMMARY:  

Develops, directs, plans, leads and provides strategic direction to the Company’s Marketing Department. Oversees and supports strategic initiatives that are designed to assist the company obtain it objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:  

·        Act as an internal consultant in several areas of business, including Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, Store Operation, HR, Finance, etc, to identify root cause and dependency for the current business issues and propose solutions

·        Evaluate current value proposition and key messaging along with recommended changes to value proposition to stay current or ahead of customer trends

·        Assess current process within merchandising, marketing and supply chain and develop strategic planning methodology, process and tools to align business unit planning with company’s strategy and financial objectives

·        Streamline annual planning, quarterly planning and period planning by leveraging the best practices in large retail organizations and considering cultural adaptability at A&P

·        Facilitate strategy and planning sessions with defined structure to bring merchandising and marketing organization together and communicate one voice to our customers with clear strategic vision

·        Define marketing message hierarchy to prioritize marketing investments and develop integrated marketing plan that includes In-store experience, printed media, event, PR, digital media, etc

·        Create a project dashboard to track marketing project progress and provide status update to the executive team for better visibility on marketing project progress and resource allocation

·        Function as communication liaison between marketing and merchandising

·        Partner with marketing channel experts and merchants to develop and recommend comprehensive marketing strategy for the respective categories and segments

·        Develop and implement the comprehensive marketing plan to support large strategic initiatives with project management discipline

·        Partner with consumer insight team to conduct marketing research to anticipate competition and market trends and translate consumer attitude into new directions

·        Define strategy for neighborhood partnership program in Northeastern regions

·        Lead the merchandising and marketing team to explore opportunities to acquire and merge companies where current capabilities are lack of to support key strategic initiatives

·        Provide leadership, including mentoring and coaching managers and other staff members within the marketing department

Desired Skills and Experience

SPECIAL SKILLS, TRAINING, OR EXPERIENCE:

·        Master degree in marketing

·        Broad knowledge in various business areas such as merchandising, marketing, supply chain, store operation, visual merchandising, HR, training, internal communication, etc within retail industry

·        Minimum 10 years in a management position in Marketing Department of a large organization.

·        Working experience with PR, event management, E-Commerce, B2B and B2C retail marketing

·        Proficient project management skills obtained through working experience with managing large scope enterprise projects and key strategic initiatives

·        Proficient in MS-project, business process application (i.e. Corporate Modeler) and other Project Management tools and methodology

·        5 years of strategic planning experience with developing and implementing comprehensive plan by providing customized framework, process and tools to support decision making process

·        Proficient in business process analysis to drive business evaluation and streamline the process within merchandising and marketing

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills
