Technical Project Managers at are part of a cutting-edge team impacting the way millions of people select what is typically the second largest purchase they’ll make in their lifetime: a new car.

What You’ll Do:
You have to be a lot of things in this role.  Among the stuff you’ll do as a Technical Project Manager at Edmunds:
• Function as the active team leader, not just a facilitator or coordinator
• Use your existing knowledge of Agile, Design Thinking and Lean Startup best practices to manage development projects and spread understanding and acceptance with other departments
• Look for process improvements to help the team work as efficiently as possible
• Motivate when it matters and lay down the law when its needed
• Manage team capacities to help the team manage their bandwidth
• Be the requirements gatekeeper and help product owners come up with, and stick to, a roadmap
• Be the bad guy if necessary and help developers say no to changes and scope creep
• Administrative things like scheduling meetings, taking notes, ordering food, etc.
• Surface project issues and proactively make recommendations for solutions
• The typical TPM talk: gather business requirements, establish deadlines, monitor progress, communicate with the team and stakeholders, prepare project status reports, etc.

Desired Skills and Experience

What You’ll Need:

• Experience leading large-scale enterprise technology/product development projects

• Hands-on experience leading projects using iterative development methodologies (Agile/Kanban, SCRUM)

• Mental agility - dynamic thinker and quick on your feet

• Flexibility – able to flow with project changes; when things shift
course mid-stream, you can roll with it and help the team re-orient

• Humility – be open to suggestions and self-improvement; desire to learn and grow

• Perseverance – an unwillingness to fail

• Hands on Design Thinking and Lean Startup development experience a plus
