Job description

EnerVault, a Silicon Valley startup developing innovative flow batteries for energy storage, is currently seeking a full-time mechanical engineer starting immediately in Sunnyvale, CA. This role involves designing innovative components for advanced energy storage systems, and involves working with other engineers, scientists, and technicians in a fast-paced, team environment.  As an intermediate level position, we are looking for a candidate with industrial experience and a demonstrated record of success.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

  • Design, build, and test custom parts including advanced sensors and specialized test equipment.
  • Perform engineering analysis, including thermal and stress calculations, pressure and flow calculations, and material compatibility.
  • Size, select, and source components
  • Manage subcontractors and their delivery of components and designs on time and to specification.

Prepare high quality engineering drawings

Desired Skills and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s  or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years in industry, with direct experience designing parts and systems that integrate electronics, fluids, and thermal devices.
  • CAD experience (Solidworks preferred).
  • Successful track record of delivering development goals on time and on budget.
  • Experience in chemical and electrochemical devices is an advantage.

  • Entrepreneurial and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative and innovative, with the ability to solve technical problems in new ways.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; able to work effectively with vendors and peers, scientists and technicians.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
