POSITION SUMMARY:

Serves as a company authority performing system and subsystem definition, preliminary and detailed design, design implementation, and subsystem and system integration and tests for a system. Participates in software requirement review, preliminary and critical design, integration readiness review, and software acceptance review.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Researches, designs, and develops critical and complex computer software systems, in conjunction with hardware product development, for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, and scientific applications, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.

Analyzes critical software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Involvement in business development includes briefing customers on company capabilities.

Consults with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system.

Formulates and designs software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.

Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.

As a company authority consults with customer concerning maintenance of software system.

Provides support for the acquisition, installation, maintenance and operations of computer systems hardware, software and networks within assigned customer work stations and facilities.

Contributes technical material to selected proposals and reports to substantiate and secure program funding. Acts as senior technical lead for pre-proposal, proposal, and existing program efforts.

Identifies creative solutions to improve system and product offerings.

Reviews test plans and define / develop test benches for software libraries. Integrates externally developed code into core libraries.

Works with engineering and management team to collectively meet market requirements.

Interacts with senior customer personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordinated activity across organizational lines.
Documents and reviews engineering work as input for company collateral and patent requirements.

Collaborates with technical writers to create customer-relevant documentation.

Coordinates with project work teams to ensure adherence to policies, achievement of quality targets and delivery on schedule milestones.

Supports program management office in technical role.

Represents the organization as a prime customer contact on contracts or projects.

Provides advice and guidance to less experienced staff.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent and 10 to 12 years of related experience.

Required Qualifications:
Must have current TS clearance and ability to obtain SCI access. Must have at a minimum one DoD 8570 IAT I certification (Security +, Network +, TICSA, or SSCP) or higher IAT certification at start of work.

Desired Qualifications:
Requires a good working knowledge of information systems and applications.Pursues ongoing education in technical topics.Good business communication skills.Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience.Must be able to interpret specifications, troubleshoot and create software solutions.Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work.Microsoft .Net framework (primarily C#).UI/UX design.ASP.Net Web Forms (legacy support).ASP.Net MVC (and associated patterns such as MVVM, service pattern, Unit of Work, etc.).Ajax methodology.Javascript.Javascript libraries such as jQuery, knockout.js, node.js, etc.WCF and Web Service development.Silverlight.SharePoint development preferred.Desktop application development using Windows Forms or WPF-based platforms, as well as Windows service development preferred.Microsoft SQL Server design and development. BA/BS or equivalent + 2-4 yrs. Software engineering experience. Prior JSOC, SOCOM, NAVSPECWARCOM, USASOC, AFSOC, MARSOC, or other Special Forces (SF)/Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
