Job description

Contract Position 12 - 18 months

 

Our client requires an experienced procurement specialist to undertake an important assignment to drive the strategic procurement function of the business including the establishment of strategic supplier relationships, maximise buying power and drive procurement savings.

 

Duties include

 

  • Building strategic relationships with existing and new suppliers to add value to the supply chain and reduce prices.
  • Negotiating strategic partnerships and arrangements through incentives and promotion of both parties’ interests.
  • Establishing service level agreements with key performance indicators.
  • Attend and manage supplier performance meetings and measure back to KPI’s.
  • Rationalise number of suppliers in high spend areas and form strategic partnerships with suppliers that match organisational goals.
  • Establish par stock levels for high volume products including food and beverage.
  • Establish relationships with suppliers that have online ordering, allow payment on statement, stock on consignment.
  • Apply price bundling and unbundling where applicable and maximise purchasing power.
  • Assist with implementation and establishment of procurement framework
  • Grouping supplier and spend categories for efficiency and consolidate spend areas.
  • Rationalise administration required in procurement.
  • Ensure an effective compliance process and establish rules and guidelines for purchasing the maximise strategic benefit.

 

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a procurement role at a senior and strategic level, preferably in with a food focus.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and computerised stock control systems
  • Exceptional level of attention to detail.
