Joint Commission Resources is currently seeking a Project Director. Joint Commission Resources (JCR) is a global publishing, educational and consulting affiliate of The Joint Commission, nationally recognized for its progressive achievements in the accreditation process.

The Project Director provides a direct link between Joint Commission Resources ("JCR") and the Veterans Administration ("VA"), and has primary responsibility for the day-to-day operations. The Project Director provides general oversight of all tasks in the statement of work. The Director provides direction and leadership to the Continuous Service Readiness ("CSR") consultants and subcontractors. Additionally, the Director plans, develops, implements, and administers contract activities with the VA. The position is responsible for assembling a team of consultants that shall be available on both a scheduled and as needed basis. This position will ensure the accurate implementation of the National Veterans Administration Continuous Service Readiness contract according to VA standard rules and guidelines. The position conducts workforce planning, manages, and evaluates all contract activities and reviews the high-level deliverables across the project. The ideal candidate should be qualified to consult and have the ability to evaluate the accuracy and reliability of the consulting and education activities.

Desired Skills and Experience

This position does not require relocation. This is a one year contract postion with up to two optional renewal years. This position requires up to 25% travel within the US. The level of knowledge and experience equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of a Master's degree in health care or a related field. Possesses at least ten years of progressive management experience in a multi-tasked environment. Previous experience working with or in a government regulatory environment; OR evaluating the quality of care and compliance with regulations; and/or have experience in providing accreditation readiness to health care organizations. Demonstrates history of and possesses a strong working knowledge of the VA system and Joint Commission standards, survey process and performance improvement. Excellent communication skills exhibited through professional involvement in leadership roles, teaching and speaking engagements, consulting, or relevant publications. The written and verbal communication skills necessary to effectively present information and ideas to large and small audiences relating to The Joint Commission corporate initiatives, standards compliance techniques, etc. Excellent teaching, consultative, and interpersonal skills necessary to interact with others at all levels of organization. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with executive leadership from state hospitals and health care organizations. Contemporary knowledge of and experience in health care operations, clinical practice, use of quality improvement methods to assess organizational performance and current research and trends relative to health care practices. Ability to lead teams of professionals with varying backgrounds in clinical and technical disciplines to perform a variety of tasks.
