The Research & Product Management organization seeks to continually upgrade and enhance Express Scripts' PBM offering. This group is responsible for developing and delivering new programs while upgrading and enhancing existing ones. This team also focuses on developing capabilities deemed essential for success in the future, such as physician connectivity.RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure Express Scripts adequately develops new solutions and product extensions to drive additional revenue and intangible services to acquire and retain health plan employer clients. Develop solutions to mitigate risks and capitalize on the new market opportunities.

-Assess and monitor the marketplace to ensure Express Scripts is appropriately preparing for and reacting to the evolving healthcare models and industry forces
-Provide leadership and advise cross functional ¿PBM¿ leadership staff concerning new market and business opportunities created by healthcare reform to generate new revenue streams to the PBM
-Influence and direct strategic innovation and business development efforts related to re-framing of existing products/services, product extensions, and new product/services development
-Develop and manage Xfunct leadership team which meets regularly to assess the marketplace and Exchange regulation developments which present opportunities and threats to ESI.
-Direct execution of prioritized opportunities.
-Direct client messaging and product bundling for market deployment
-Escalate as needed dependencies and client needs
-Advise and make recommendations to leadership staff of new (non-PBM) business opportunities created by healthcare reform
-Lead the assessment, prioritization and direction regarding the Emerging care delivery models and ESI¿s pilot efforts for new (non-PBM) business opportunities
-Develop and manage Xfunct leadership team (including members of Sr. Staff) which meets regularly to assess the marketplace, adjacent markets, and competitor actions/developments which present opportunities and threats to ESI. Direct execution of prioritized opportunities.
-Direct execution of prioritized opportunities or pilots
-Direct messaging for market or internal deployment, as necessary
-Escalate as needed dependencies and business needs
-Provide focused direction and strategic oversight for the Specialty product, operations, and sales teams specific to the marketplace opportunities and risks created by HCR.
-Collaborate and ensure needs are adequately addressed regarding relevant Research needs with respect to the Consumer Market or Client needs.
-Identify and assess addt new strategic opportunities for ESI associated with a changing post reform marketplace through Competitive Intelligence, Market Research, and client feedback
-Oversee the client messaging, interactions, training, and required internal support communications
-Oversee state and market micro analysis and strategy development and client product opportunities
-Oversee development of Health Plan division prioritization and strategies
-Oversee the development of Employer strategies to mitigate the threats and to create opportunities for ESI
-Contributes significantly to the 18 month- 3 year strategic plan ¿ development through execution.


-BA/BS degree
-12+ years of relevant experience
-Advanced problem solving skills with ability to work cross-functionally to resolve issues and generate results among potentially conflicting constituencies as well a being Team player.
-Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
-Strong business acumen, work ethic and integrity
-Excellent project oversight skills
-Strong executive presence
-Sound decision making ability
-Strong analytical, planning, problem identification and resolution skills required
-Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage work load to meet deadlines
-Ability to rationalize issues and determine when escalation is needed
-Ability to read interpret and comment on state and federal regulations and subsequent guidance.
-Able to determine legislative landscape and what relationships are necessary to establish to ensure Express Scripts is well connected in the industry
