Job description

Under the direction of the Manager, Field Human Resources, responsible for recruitment, administer all HR functions/processes including but not limited to employee relations, discipline, compensation, benefits, payroll and personnel records, according to Company policy manual and applicable law, supporting all Company employees.  Make fiscally sound recommendations regarding compensation and other programs.  Develop and assess on a continuous basis strategies to assist the organization in meeting its long and short term goals.  Through quality improvement efforts ensure consistency of practices among and between programs.


  • Responsible for recruitment by initiating employment interviews.  Evaluates, writes and places print media (newspapers, industry specific journals, etc.) and internet job recruitment advertisements.  Utilizes job fair exhibits as a resource for recruitment.  Working with Department managers to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Works closely with the appropriate departments to ensure all employment related functions are accomplished effectively and efficiently.  Makes recommendations for appropriate changes in systems and procedures which lead to greater efficiency, cost savings or other benefits to Company and its personnel.
  • Responsible for effective employee relations activities necessary to establish and foster positive employer-employee relationships with high employee morale.  Job duties include base visits, participating in discipline and termination proceedings, management and employee guidance and counseling, harassment investigations, etc.
  • Makes recommendations to and collaborates with the Manager of Compensation and Benefits to ensure timely review and evaluation of compensation structures.  Responsible for maintaining and reviewing job descriptions.  Documents, maintains and updates pay practices and compensation guidelines.
  • Works with outside agencies and assures compliance with regulatory bodies.  Represents Company at EEO claims/hearings, unemployment hearings, etc.  Works with temporary staffing/employment agencies and airport security operations.  Ensures compliance with Company Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program.

Desired Skills and Experience



HR Generalist experience in the Aviation Industry is highly preferred.

  • Lafayette, LA


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Human Resources Management or related field.
  • Progressively responsible experience as a H. R. Generalist a strong plus.


  • This position requires 20% travel, occasionally with short notice and involving weekends.
