Navigant's Valuation & Financial Risk Management Practice has extensive experience advising clients on critical valuation, transaction advisory, due diligence and risk management issues. This experience cuts across all major industries and business functions.

 

Our practice provides value-added business advisory services to help top tier clients solve complex strategic, financial, and operational challenges. FRM clients are banks and consumer finance companies that extend mortgage, home equity, credit card, automobile, educational, and other types of financing to consumers. Our portfolio of business advisory services is focused on the implementation of solutions based on industry best practices. Key services include: business profitability measurement and improvement, business strategy review and implementation, financial and operational risk and controls reviews, industry benchmarking, enterprise risk management, and regulatory and legal compliance reviews.

Our practice is an established thought leader on complex consumer finance industry issues. We have on-going dialogue with industry stakeholders such as regulatory agencies, and regularly benchmark industry practices for our clients. Due to our industry focus and in-depth knowledge, we are able to proactively identify and assist our clients resolve a wide range of potential issues before they impact our clients.

 

FRM has developed proprietary financial, audit, compliance and risk managements applications in partnership with a third party firm. We are looking for smart, inquisitive and hardworking team players who can help lead and drive these applications to the next level. Candidates who have demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts, successfully handle multiple tasks, and effectively work as part of a team are preferred.

This position is within the pricing and credit risk segment of the Valuation & Financial Risk Management practices. Practitioners help independently validate models (both internally developed and vendor supplied models), develop models and update model documentation. They also conduct data quality and integrity checks, review processes and help implement systems within the client environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and delivery of complex financial models
  • Perform research and analysis with limited guidance
  • Project work in a variety of engagements in time-sensitive environment
  • Assist with proper documentation and quality control of work product
  • Conduct due diligence with clients
  • Prepare client deliverables consisting of Excel models, Word and PowerPoint documents

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in banking or financial services in a consultant and/or industry role
  • Must have superior project management skills demonstrated by successful end-to-end project with a team size of 4 (at a minimum) or more
  • Knowledge and experience in a broad range of subject matters including mortgage servicing, risk management processes, financial services related systems development, credit risk, market risk, operational excellence
  • Familiarity with securities and complex instrument pricing, whole loan pricing, loan and securities accounting
  • Working knowledge of audit i.e. compliance audit and internal audit
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Working knowledge of mortgage servicing preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Evidence of independent authoring of reports / proposals is essential
  • Creative problem-solving ability and a collaborative, consultancy mindset
  • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Able to balance multiple engagements with varying deadlines
  • Able to generate a quality work product in a timely manner while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work well independently and within a team
  • Experience working on discrete, time sensitive projects
  • Highly motivated, driven, and dynamic
  • Domestic travel required
