The role of IT goes beyond the traditional Information Technology “service provider”. This position will be in the Solutions Delivery and Maintenance division within Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Information Technology department. The Systems Integrator will primarily be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Advanced Load Control System (ALCS) supporting SCE SmartConnect operations.
Typical responsibilities will include: developing and executing test plans to ensure a quality product is delivered; implementing additions and updates from vendors using established processes and procedures; interfacing with peers and vendors to diagnose software issues and implement corrective fixes, and coordinate any failed actions with vendors to reduce corrective fixes; coordinating the restoration of failed system components through vendor support and personnel diagnosis and determining if personnel can fix the problem; analyzing and troubleshooting systems to improve performance and service quality using existing or newly developed tools; interfacing with customers, peers, and external vendors to define requirements and implement new functionality; monitoring resource reserves; creating and maintaining reports and dashboards and maintaining database content; providing off-hours support by taking calls and providing corrective actions with vendor support; supporting the diagnoses of data communications issues with Smart Meters, Home Area Network equipment and the network gateway; maintaining a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices; and performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.


•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
•Must possess a minimum of six years of experience maintaining software applications and systems.
•Demonstrated experience working with Unix operating systems.
•Demonstrated experience working with Java.
•Demonstrated experience working with web server software/technology.
•Demonstrated experience using/developing SQL commands and scripts.
•Demonstrated experience developing and executing test plans.
•Demonstrated experience developing tools using various scripting languages.
•Demonstrated experience implementing additions and updates from vendors.
•Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex problems related to software systems including understanding architecture for systems that have high availability and resiliency, knowledge of IT network communication protocols and equipment, and understanding IT security techniques and equipment.
•Demonstrated experience using oral and written communication skills in a professional setting, and being customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to clients’ business needs.
•Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze, prepare and present project information.
•Demonstrated ability to provide off-hours support when needed.
•Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Visio.
•Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
•Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
•Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
•Demonstrated ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices. 


•Demonstrated experience with C++, .Net, Java Glassfish Enterprise Environment, or XML. 
•Demonstrated experience with Service-oriented Architecture. 
•Demonstrated experience with Demand Response Systems related to an electric utility.
•Demonstrated knowledge of Zigbee Smart Energy Profile 1.0 and 2.0 Standards.
•Experience with software performance monitoring tools such as CA Wiley.
•This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation.  Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
