Job description

The University of California has launched a significant initiative, called Working Smarter, to create cost savings and administrative efficiencies through a variety of projects across the UC system. A key set of these initiatives involves the deployment of common administrative systems and shared business processes. The first of several major system implementations will be a common HR/Payroll system for all of UC's nearly 200,000 employees.

 

The IAM lead is accountable for ensuring effective collaboration and partnership among UC's many Identity Providers (IDPs) and Service Providers (SPs) to support system-wide objectives for increased interoperability and efficiency in administrative systems.

 

The IAM lead is responsible for the successful design and deployment of Identity and Access Management services to support a new system- wide implementation of PeopleSoft's Human Capital Management

(HCM) and Payroll applications, with related supporting environments for reporting and forecasting. In tandem with that work, the IAM lead will work with IAM representatives from across UC's ten campuses and five medical centers to support other system-wide initiatives in support of identity management, user provisioning, or federated access management services.

 

Design, development, deployment, and maintenance of identity and access management services and applications in support of UCOP and system wide services

 

Assessment of current services to identify opportunities for enhancement and development of new services

 

Design and deployment of technical solutions that allow interoperability between these services

 

Work with UC IDPs, SPs, and external vendors to develop solutions for integrating systems

Lead identity and access management detail design, configuration, development and implementation activities

 

Ensures compliance with University security and privacy policy requirements and with legal and regulatory requirements ensuring individual privacy and application security

 

Collaborates with operational staff to identify and resolve production-related identity or access management issues

Lead the design and implementation of identity and access management processes

 

Engagement with appropriate levels of IT governance to establish priorities and objectives for IAM program

 

Regularly assesse and recommend improvements for IAM services or service levels

 

Internal resource supporting the IAM needs of IT staff supporting non-federated applications or services

Desired Skills and Experience

Expert level knowledge of Identity and Access Management architectures, frameworks, and software solutions

 

Masters or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field and 5+ years experience with various application servers and Enterprise Identity and Access Management technologies or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Proven success managing matrixed teams to successful outcomes

 

Advanced written and verbal communication skills

 

Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

 

Experience of project management, team management and team development

 

Strong programming experience (3+ years) with J2EE technologies: EJB, XML, JMS, JPA, JSP, ORM

?Hibernate, etc

 

Experience in designing and implementing IAM processes including:

-Role & Entitlements Management

-Identity Lifecycle Management

-Access Management
