Job Mission:

LinkedIn is an exciting and challenging company to work for in the boom of Social Media having recently gone through an IPO on the NYSE. The role of the Sales Account Director is to educate brands as to why they should be engaging and interacting with over 175m business professionals globally. Responsibilities include managing the Swedish business including planning and investment of designated agency and client groups.  You will showcase LinkedIn as the premier place for brands to market to the World's largest B2B audience. The aim will be to maximize revenues while producing ROI and brand awareness for agencies and clients.


Primary objectives: To develop and deliver a sales strategy that effects growth by 100% in the next fiscal year. Leading, motivating and growing a specialist sales team to hit growth targets by developing a significant existing and new customer base. The Account Director owns the C-Suite relationships with a select number of key contacts in Sweden.


Role is split into following responsibilities:

30% Calling on Account Directors, Trading Directors and CMOs

30% Leading and mentoring others

20% Developing complex marketing solutions with the support of the team that will provide ROI for customers

20% Planning, Reporting and Forecasting sales activity


What will your first 90 days look like?


30 days:

  • To learn and understand the Marketing Solutions portfolio.
  • Develop relationships with key internal stakeholders and influencers in the business.
  • Plan overall sales strategy for the team within your defined territory.
  • Develop Account Plans - Analyse and research top 20 key business and target accounts (e.g.wallet share, spend, business drivers, explore opportunities)
  • Forecast sales activity by quarter based on historical  analysis and current pipeline.
  • Meet with key clients

60 days:

  • Cultivate senior level relationships by calling on 7+ customers per week.
  • Align overall business goals of growth and product strategy.
  • Develop account plans with team and have 1 to 1weekly meetings with each team member to help them to prioritize workload and achieve goals.
  • Contribute to the development of engaging pitches to clients
  • Develop and ensure delivery of complex solutions that are profitable and replicable.

90 days:

  • You should expect clients to be making key investments and building a significant pipeline of opportunities towards achieving quarterly revenue goals.
  • Reporting on campaign performance and presenting ROI for customers.
  • Ensuring that the sales team are following a defined consultative selling process.
  • Make changes as necessary to enhance and develop processes.
  • Ensure you continually engage and work effectively with your peers and colleagues within the greater LinkedIn team.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Fluent in English & Swedish
  • Experience within online marketing industry
  • Digital media sales experience
  • Exceptional media sales reputation
  • Proven track record of over achievement against revenue and growth goals
  • Excellent breadth and depth of network within EMEA digital agencies
  • Extensive experience of structuring complex digital advertising solutions
  • Detailed knowledge of the digital landscape in EMEA


  • In-depth knowledge of B2B, Technology, Telecoms, Automotive, Finance and Travel verticals advantageous.
  • Excited by and thrive in rapid growth environment.
  • Other European languages fluent to business
  • Business, marketing or media/advertising related degree, master or MBA
