Our Opportunity Reporting to the Group Vice President of Global Operations, the Director of Continuous Improvement will create the vision and be responsible for institutionalizing a culture of continuous process improvement across the Company. In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for building and sustaining a process-managed / continuous improvement based organization. You will create and implement sustainable process improvement systems and be accountable for delivering results through process improvement portfolios and for increasing the maturity of the internal operations.

 

Primary Responsibilities Lead and build a global team of Master Black Belts, Black Belts and Lean Program Managers who will diagnose process improvement opportunities and lead the business in developing and implementing solutions using principles of process excellence and related tools. Manage the development and performance of the Business Process Optimization team on their knowledge, capabilities and utilization of process design, re-engineering and improvement methods resulting in tangible results in expense savings, revenue generation and/or loss cost mitigation. Develop and mentor team on how to create compelling business cases/proposals for strategic programs.  Contribute to the transformational change in mindset and behavior within the Company to establish a sustainable perpetual improvement environment from the senior leadership level to line level employees. Lead the design, implementation and utilization of common business process standards/management methodologies, principles/practices, policy and procedure documentation, performance improvement metrics, training and resources across the organization to enable the business to easily adopt a process culture. Determine and implement the optimal process governance needed in the organization. Promote/share best practices across the organization and identify/propose organizational alignment recommendations for process orientation. Cultivate a work environment that promotes practical business-oriented thinking to identify and solve problems. Direct the Business Process Optimization organization which will work across the organization and partner with business process owners of enterprise wide processes to identify opportunity areas to streamline end-to-end processes and deliver tangible results in expense savings, revenue generation and/or loss cost mitigation. Eliminate geographical and hierarchical obstacles that inhibit process maturity. Develop and manage a process improvement reporting infrastructure used to identify, prioritize and monitor process improvement opportunities. Define review gates and monitor adherence to program/project management standards. Establish and systematically monitor metrics that accurately depict program/project performance from all stakeholder perspectives.  

Desired Skills and Experience

Your Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering, IT/MIS, operations management or business administration/management or equivalent. Masters degree preferred.
  • 10+ years experience in project management, business process improvement, etc in developing effective business solutions through identification, analysis, design and implementation of best practices and processes
  • 5+ years direct managerial experience leading and coaching project implementation teams in process improvement activities
  • Use of Lean, Six Sigma, and Business Process Management techniques and methodology to analyze business processes identify gaps/ constraints and facilitate improvements and establish measures.
  • Detailed understanding of strategic and tactical objectives and broad understanding of business, and certain technical, implications of projects within the enterprise portfolio.
  • Ability to execute business objectives both as a thought-leader and as an individual contributor.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, including key relationships with executives and senior personnel.
  • General Management skills including planning, budgeting, scheduling, people management, service delivery.
  •  Advanced communication skills including listening, comprehension, written and verbal communication skills with experience in developing reports and making presentations to a variety of audiences.

Desirable / Preferred experience include:

  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification; Lean Certification; Project Management Professional (PMP); Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP); Certified Business Process Professional (CBPP); or Prosci’s Change Management Certified Professional (CMCP)
  • Experience implementing Business Process Management Software / Technologies (including Business Activity Monitoring; Business Rules Engines; Workflow across multiple legacy / Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications; Business Intelligence Systems; Business Process Modeling and Simulation, etc.
  • Implemented a Business Process Management center of excellence/competency center
  • Experience in benchmarking key process indicators and/or utilizing industry standard process / architecture frameworks such as APQC, VRM, SCOR, TOGAF, etc.
  • Familiarity with Business Process Management maturity models
