CT-N Director of Programming at Connecticut Public Affairs Network!


Unusual opportunity at Connecticut’s award-winning Emmy Award-nominated window on state government for that special person with a passion for government and politics, top-notch writing skills, high energy and keen eye for detail!


If you are the right person to: 

  • Manage the programming function for the Connecticut Network (CT-N)…
  • Maintain extensive knowledge base of state government entities, officials, policy initiatives, etc. and provide editorial insight for making coverage decisions…
  • Cultivate relationships with state government officials and staff to obtain information and facilitate coverage…
  • Serve as liaison to various legislative committees…
  • Manage and develop programming staff…
  • Oversee pre-, live and post-production of television coverage, including technical/logistical details and graphics…
  • Maintain mission and editorial integrity of CT-N in every show produced…
  • Provide editorial guidance and leadership for all programming…
  • Oversee special coverage and initiatives during elections…

Desired Skills and Experience

…we'd love to talk with you! The right candidate will have:

  • A BA or advanced degree…
  • Extensive, in-depth knowledge of state government structure and operations...
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in journalism, state government or related field…
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite…
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
