The Strategic Marketing Leader China plays a key role to shape and drive strategic marketing excellence across the country – delivering growth in China is a critical strategic priority to enable growth for Honeywell.  This is a high impact role for a broad based, global business thinker with excellent analytical and communication skills who can collaborate effectively across the business.  The position will report to the Marketing Director, Strategic Geographies with a matrix report to the General Manager, China – the role will involve working closely with business and functional leaders in China, key global business leaders, and global strategy and marketing organization

Specific Roles and Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Planning for China

  • Drive the Annual Strategic Planning (STRAP) process for China by working closely with Country, Functional, Line of Business and Global teams
  • Coordinate and deliver all key market and financial analysis requirements for China (competition, trends, technologies, economics), leading to clear insights and strategic recommendations
  • Provide strategic marketing and business consulting input.  Support the development and execution of growth plans
  • Support M&A process by conducting research, due diligence as required

 

 

Portfolio ManagementLocalization through E4E & W4E Products

  • Drive continual Voice of the Customer (VOC) activities to validate market understanding and anticipate customer needs for new products/solutions to drive growth in China and become the Chinese competitor
  • Align and integrate with Global organization through proactive participation in global portfolio management process

 

Commercial Excellence - Drive Strategy Execution

  • Develop go to market plans for verticals of focus, collaborating close with country business leaders as well as experts/leaders in line of business and Global teams
  • Develop go to market plans for solution offerings e.g. Advanced Solutions, collaborating close with country business leaders as well as experts/leaders in business and Global teams
  • Close collaboration with Sales organization to drive profitable growth through customer segmentation, win/loss analysis
  • Support and provide Strategic Marketing guidance to Annual Operating Plan (AOP) to ensure allocation of resources and budget for strategic growth priorities

Drive Channel Strategies

  • Develop and support strategies to grow and strengthen channel business in China
  • Drive and support development of local partnerships to accelerate growth priorities.

 

People & Process Excellence

  • Manage and coordinate strategy & marketing Management Operating System (MOS) for China to ensure successful strategy execution
  • Provide input to Strategic Geographies and Global marketing leadership
  • Provide input to reports for senior HPS, ACS, Corporate leadership in order to show progress against established targets
  • Collaborate effectively with a variety of functional and business resources across Strategic Geographies and Global organization
  • Proactive member of Global Strategy team
  • Effectively manage and lead team of direct reports (analyst, growth program, product managers)

 

Desired Skills and Experience

Position Qualifications:

  • Degree in Marketing, Business or Engineering.  Masters in Business Administration is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of the industrial automation industry or end-customers’ industry is highly preferred 
  • Experience in strategic planning, product marketing / management is preferred
  • Written and verbal fluency in English and Chinese

  • Basic understanding of the key dynamics of doing business in China & the impact of China globally
  • Excellent program / project management skills
  • Proven capacity to be effective in a complex global business environment

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills; strong presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; confident and effective as an advisor to company leadership.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large number of activities and strong management skills
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment
  • Travel up to 20% of working days.
