Job description

The Carbon and Sustainability services department is a specialist department within EnergyQuote JHA responsible for all carbon and demand side services.

 

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and commercially focused individual supported by experienced delivery and technical knowledge to drive the Carbon and Sustainability Department forward by increasing revenue, margins and services delivered

 

You will be responsible for leading and working closely with Clients, Relationship Managers, Sales and Risk and Strategy Departments and key individuals within the company for the delivery of:

Primary

  • Carbon and Sustainability Policy and Strategy Development
  • Carbon Management Services (Reputation)
  • Demand Side Services (income and savings)
  • Generation Development Services
  • The continued development with the Head of Risk and Strategy a combined “Total Energy” policy and strategy approach that takes into account energy and emissions reduction, on-site and off-site generation, carbon management and energy price risk management and procurement optionality

Secondary

  • Generation Development Services: PPA with Client / Developers
  • Lead speaker on carbon and sustainability at applicable at a local, European and global level

 

The role also requires the ability to sell extra services to the clients where there is a genuine benefit for the client and the company in doing so.

 

Carbon and Sustainability Policy and Strategy Development

  • Carbon and Sustainability Policy: Full responsibility for delivery of all Client Carbon and Sustainability Policies in line with the Carbon and Sustainability Strategy model.
  • Carbon and Sustainability Strategies: Full responsibility for delivery of all Client Strategies in line with the Carbon and Sustainability Strategy model with a focus on:
  • Carbon Management Services

-     Legislation (CCA, CCL, CRC etc)

-     Compliance (CDP, GRI, Carbon footprinting etc)

-     Carbon management and reporting software (incl data)

-     Carbon offsetting

  • Demand side Services

-     Energy Audits

-     Business case (MACC, OPEX, CAPEX)

-     Financing

  • Generation Development Services

-     On-site generation optimisation (CHP, Stand-by, alternative onsite)

-     PPA’s to Client’s (I & C companies)

-     ROC, FiT, RHI

  • Helping customers understand the EnergyQuote JHA’s Carbon and Sustainability Strategy Model: ensure that all applicable clients are taken through and fully understand EnergyQuote JHA’s Carbon and Sustainability Strategy Model in line with the current process flow.
  • Development and enhancement of EnergyQuote JHA’s Carbon and Sustainability Strategy model.
  • Analytics:  Development of appropriate analytics models
  • Entrepreneurial:  To continue to strive in a proactive manner to ensure our carbon and sustainability service remains a market leader which other companies follow.
  • Green Steering Committee: To lead and delivery successful solutions via the Green Steering committee that demonstrate the company’s commitment to sustainability and carbon reduction. This will be working in conjunction with nominated members of the Green Steering Committee and HR.

 

Business Plan

  • Production of an annual business plan taking into account a 3 year view that includes revenue generation, new products and services, costs and enhanced profitability
  • Identify and implementation of new services and products:  working independently with all departments to develop and implement new services and products to meet their requirements.
  • Career development plan: Following the delivery of your business plan production and agreement with your line manager a career development plan that supports, mentors and provides training in the areas that will allow you to continue to grow, develop and learn.

 

Management and Sales Experience:

  • An Experienced manager who can develop and built teams by a hand’s on approach, mentoring, career development and scalability that achieves targets while maintaining profitability.
  • Recruitment of key individuals as appropriate
  • A proven track record of achieving sales targets and fostering strong, long term client relationships at a Country, European and Global level
  • Proven B2B sales experience and professional services solutions.
  • You can demonstrate strong success in consultative selling and an ability to strategically assist the sales process through sales cycles
  • Consultative selling approach
  • Risk, Strategy, Carbon and environmental experience of delivering solutions
  • Commercial and management experience
  • Ability to work and deliver at European and Global Board level

 

Service Delivery

  • Customer Expectation Setting: Throughout the Carbon and Sustainability Strategy model process ensure that the client has a full understanding of Carbon and demand side services and the impact that these will have on energy / emissions reduction, savings and income and reputation.
  • Solving any client problems: in relation to all Carbon and Sustainability issues.
  • Working consistently to deliver a superb service: through understanding each client’s particular needs - all of whom have their own peculiarities - so each client feels they are special.
  • Keeping clients happy & exceeding their expectations: such that they continue to use our services indefinitely.
  • Being totally responsible for your client allocation to insure they receive a totally professional execution of our service at all times and in everything the company does.
  • Following up on all administration: to ensure all administration is performed to the required EnergyQuote JHA’s standard.

 

Industry Knowledge and Training

  • Expanding the knowledge of clients and EnergyQuote JHA’s employees in the area of Carbon and Sustainability: through education we build value in our products such that they appreciate the system we run called EnergyQuote by adding value at all times
  • Helping customers understand the EnergyQuote JHA’s Carbon and Sustainability Strategy Model: ensure that all applicable clients are taken through and fully understand EnergyQuote’s JHA’s Carbon and Sustainability Strategy Model in line with the current process flow
  • Seminar & Conference Speaking: speaking at conferences and seminar’s as appropriate on the topics of Carbon and Sustainability as decided by the Company.
  • Company Training: Delivery and training of individuals and departments to ensure full understanding of the Carbon and Sustainability service
  • Training and Development: Take part in all training exercises internally and externally, and keep to your training programme as set by your line manager.

 

Plus: All other duties as assigned by your line Manager appropriate to the development of the role and the individual.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

The essential attributes for this role are:

Experience

  • Substantial knowledge of Carbon management and demand side services supported by sustainability and strategy development at a European / Global level
  • Knowledge of the power, gas, oil and carbon utility / Industrial and commercial sectors
  • Senior selling experience and or professional and consulting services
  • Can communicate and work effectively at Board Level and at all other levels within a client’s organisation
  • Strategic sales and business development planning including territory analysis and market segmentation
  • Effectively developed and managed sales forecasts
  • Experienced working within a high performance culture
  • Persuasive, brings people around to their way of thinking.
  • Additional European languages would be an advantage.

 

Qualifications

  • Degree educated preferably to a 2.1 grading or equivalent
  • Good GCSE's and A levels to ideally include maths and English or equivalent

  • Can communicate the value proposition clearly to clients via presentations and software demonstrations
  • Ability to grasp technical concepts ensuring a low reliance on presales resources

  • A good team player who is a self starter who likes to get the job done properly first time

  • Familiar with operating IT software and a working knowledge of Microsoft products.
