Interested in the social web and the future of TV? We're looking for a bright, passionate QA engineer to help us bring quality products to our members. You will be working with a variety of applications that will be used by millions of consumers. asks:
- Writes and executes tests to validate products and software
applications.
- Contributes to the development of Quality Assurance test philosophies
and methodologies. Identifies viable test strategies in order to support
testing product functionality.
- Collaborates with product and development teams to identify product
and technical requirements.
- Reviews and verifies requirements and design specifications for
validity in overall product design, with an emphasis towards product
testability and verification.
- Ensures proper execution of regression test procedures and automated
test suites and scripts. Participates in design, code and functional
product reviews.
- Works with other Quality Assurance Engineers or Software Engineers to
identify, reproduce and document bugs or defects.
- Assists in providing guidance and mentorship for junior-level Quality
Assurance Engineers. Provides technical leadership and consultation with
regards to practices, procedures and techniques.
- Supports trials of new infrastructure designs/services.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters
of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work
nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
•Close collaboration with development and product management, identifying and communicating strategy for testing. Including reports on test progress, test status, risks, issues and coverage, and meet test completion and delivery milestones. You will be working with individuals/teams on the east and west coast.
•Create and maintain documentation for testing activities, this includes reviewing product documentation, writing test plans and test cases to ensure adequate test coverage, as well as modifying test cases in accordance to changing requirements/design.
•Hands-on functional, integration, regression, data validation, cross-platform and end-to-end testing. Including manual testing of web applications for compatibility in multiple web browsers for css / html / server side code problems, usability issues, and performance issues.
•Be able to identify, report, investigate, prioritize, reproduce and validate software defects to accurately depict the status of testing. Work closely with developers to resolve issues.
•Contribute to setting and evaluating milestone criteria such that product is released on schedule with high quality.
•Build relationships between resources (on and off site) through communication, cooperation, and teamwork. Work with core teams during all phases of the product life cycle.

- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
- Engineering, Computer Science

- Generally requires 3 - 5 years related experience

•Strong interest and enthusiasm for testing social web applications. Have worked on a product that was actually released for public consumption.
•Experience with Address Book, Calendar, email, voicemail testing. 
•2+ years experience with web server technology, cross platform experience preferred (Windows, Macintosh, Linux). 
•3+ years of experience in QA, knowledge of QA methodology, agile processes, black, gray and white box testing techniques. 
•Need to be self-directed, detailed oriented, patient and enjoy problem solving.
•Experience in client / server based testing. Good understanding of Web Infrastructures and familiarity with relational databases (MSSQL,mysql). 
•Able to handle multiple projects, work in a fast paced, agile, team environment with minimal supervision and be able to manage priorities.
•Outstanding organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. 
•Able to work effectively with both on site and remote teams.
•Design and coding skills in Java and/or a scripting language such as Python or Perl; skills in vi, ssh, SQL. 
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
