Financial Analyst – Finance & Strategy

This position will act as a finance business partner for multiple executives supporting a standalone business unit within Salesforce.com . The successful candidate will report to the Director of Finance & Strategy for this business unit. This is a rapidly growing organization that is a key component of Salesforce.com ’s growth plans, and provides a great leadership opportunity for a strong finance professional!

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support the Annual and Long-term Strategic Planning and Budget Process for the a functional group (i.e., Sales, Marketing, R&D), including Capital Budgeting and Cash Flow Forecasting


  • Maintain and improve detailed financial models that track and analyze functional costs and their impact on the company’s overall performance


  • Participate in the Quarterly Rolling Forecast Process


  • Support a Rolling Investment Prioritization Process – building flexible and dynamic project-based reporting to allow for maximum visibility to both short and long term strategic investment decisions


  • Prepare In-Quarter Puts & Takes Review sessions – ensuring that the organization can flex and react to short-term budget surpluses/deficits


  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting - analyzing financial results, distilling/synthesizing key trends, assessing current and future business risk, and communicating key messages to senior management


  • Financial Analyses and Reporting – Use financial and business metrics to evaluate investment priorities and evaluate potential alternatives


  • Building deep business partner relationships across the organization



  • Required

    • 1 -3 years of relevant public company work experience


    • Four year university degree in accounting, finance, accounting or economics


    • Experience in supporting a major functional areas with an organization, with subject matter expertise in accounting, financial analysis, headcount/resource management and business metric reporting


    • Strong financial and operational planning skills


    • Expertise in building financial and decision support models


    • Analytical, problem-solving, advanced business acumen mindset


    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)


    • Ability to influence at all levels of an organization


    • Ability to multi-task effectively, working in team environments or independently


    • Proven process-improvement Track Record


    • Experience with financial systems- Hyperion, Oracle, Business Objects, Saleforce.com application


    • Experience in improving/advancing existing financial systems to improve data accessibility and flexibility
