We are seeking an experienced engineer or applications chemist to help support a growing portfolio of spectroscopy supplies within the Supplies Division. Your in-depth knowledge of product technology and strong understanding of customer business will enable you to lead the development and design of support strategies for selected products or solutions. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks which may include providing the technical product expertise to address customer and field sales queries related to our Atomic and Molecular spectroscopy supplies business, completing technical or performance evaluations of key supplies or supporting hands-on development of applications for our spectroscopy instruments which serve the life sciences and chemical analysis markets.

The candidate will be responsible for the following:


• Understanding the market and competitive environment for the assigned Spectroscopy supplies portfolio and providing technical and/or applications support within the target market segments
• Identifying key needs of customers and understanding those needs to define potential new product opportunities
• Understanding customer workflows in the analytical market and developing consumable solutions to address key needs or gaps in these workflows.
• Successfully supporting the launch of new products on time
• Creating effective channel support training material and delivering when and where appropriate
• Working collaboratively, cross organizationally, cross regionally and cross functionally to deliver the desired results.

Desired Skills and Experience

You will need to have at least 5+ years of relevant or practical experience in product support or product applications required with an established track record and now want the freedom to make a real impact in a pioneering environment.

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Engineering or a similar discipline.
• Experience in the analytical laboratory using a variety of techniques including ICP-MS, ICP-OES, Atomic Absorption and UV-Vis as a foundation for understanding customer needs, applications, and the channels that serve these customers
• Demonstrated product or technical support experience with a scientific/technical product line
• Strong financial acumen and an understanding of its interrelationship to vendor sourcing decision making
• Strategic skills with experience in developing technical product support strategies
• Established ability to glean customer insights - experience in customer needs analysis
• Strong project management and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to deliver commitments on time
• Proven leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to work in partnership within and across organizations, geographic locations, and functional areas
• Excellent written and presentation communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
