Job Summary

Reporting to a BBG Division Manager and is assigned a geographic area within the Division to lead all of customer facing BBG teams. The RVP manages multiple Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and Field Based BRMs. RVP is responsible for business development, portfolio management, client experience, marketing, and training needs of the assigned team members to ensure performance goals are exceeded. RVP is focused on balanced performance and building the Union Bank and BBG Brand both internally and externally.

Directly supervises 10+ BRM and RSM. Indirectly supervises Small Business Specialist and BDO

Major Responsibilities

This position is responsible for planning, directing and overseeing the strategic and daily business activities of a geographic region within a division to ensure profitable origination, acquisition and retention of business banking prospects and clients.

40/0nagement - Directly supervises Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) (8-12 Direct Reports). Duties include interviewing/hiring and the termination of staff; recommending salary changes, job promotions; setting work hours, conducting counseling /performance reviews, and planning of the staff 's work. Responsible for ensuring staff comply with all wage and hour regulations. This includes reviewing employee's timecards for accuracy and ensuring all meal and rest breaks are adhered to. Actively mentors and trains the Regional Sales Manager and associates/BRM to ensure the professional growth of the team members.

Responsible for a leading, developing and maintaining a strong relationship with retail branch leadership and partners in order to show a unified team and to ensure the delivery of best in class experience to small business prospects and clients. Works with Division Manager to execute programs, goals and outlets to create and enhance earnings. Responsible for ensuring that all roles work together to ensure the best possible client experience. Manages /facilitates cross-selling aspects of bank services through the identification of opportunities and delivery of service.

Overall responsibility and accountability for Region's sales performance (Production, Balance Sheet Growth, Revenue Growth, Profit Growth,) and customer experience. Responsible for implementing activity based management through direct coaching of RSM and BRM. (Is this coaching aspect appropriate. Required to actively monitor regions through field office visits. Responsible for settings sales goals for both RSM and individual BRM. Directs the marketing activities for BRM and indirectly thru the RSM in the region.
Accountable for the Profit and Loss management of Balanced Performance and Financial Results.
Also includes the management of financial results such as net Income After Tax (NIAT), Client satisfaction & the client experience, Retention of clients, Growth of portfolio, Portfolio Metrics (Credit Quality Grow assets and liabilities/Share of wallet/Cross-sell/Next Logical Product (NLP) - work with BIA/Early Warning Indicators/Client contact rates/Voice of the client (VOC), Screens potential clients for quality and segment fit. Etc. Oversees monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of sales activities, sales, portfolio quality, compliance and other data as requested.

20% Portfolio Management- Overall Region's management of loan monitoring and any loan workout within the portfolio. This includes all activities related to the development, retention or monitoring of the portfolio. Actively involved in recommendations impacting loan risk assignments and any changes from the BRM or other interested parties such as transfers to SAD.

20% Responsible for externally focused community activities & recruiting. This includes proactive recruiting& Personnel Management. Develops and maintains personal COI network. Proactively develops and maintains client relationships and Center of Influences (COIs) through community activities. Occasionally, may be involved in calling-on and negotiating with major prospects and customers in order to develop business relations and grow the client base. Actively represents Union Bank in the community.

10% Credit Quality Credit Quality& Risk Management including Annual Reviews including Due diligence requirements, risk grading etc.

10% Ensures staff adheres to all Bank and regulatory Compliance including KYC, AML, BSA, My Success Compliance Testing, wage and hour training etc.

Qualifications

Education, Licensure, Experience:

Position requires minimum of 10+year direct work experience in business relationship management and managing sales staff. Thorough knowledge of the characteristics and financial needs of Business Banking target market; full array of Union Bank services/products; and relationship management tools. Proven expertise in understanding of business financial statements, bank operations and loan policies and procedures; and be current on events and activities in the financial marketplace.

Abilities Required: Requires management level understanding of credit underwriting and loan structuring skills. Strong presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal capability. Demonstrated success at new business development and sales coaching. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of existing credit standards. Ability to handle several complex tasks simultaneously. Strong product knowledge and analytical ability.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to a prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards or directors. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical financial concepts and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor Degree and proven proficiency in Accounting.
