RGM Advisors, LLC is a proprietary trading firm headquartered in Austin, Texas that applies scientific methods and computing power to trading in multiple asset classes around the world. This is a unique opportunity to join a sophisticated quantitative trading firm in a collaborative environment away from the usual financial centers.

We are searching for a help desk professional to provide first and second-level support of our Apple systems (Mac OS X and iOS), printers, office equipment, LAN, and VOIP phone system. The successful candidate will also perform hardware and software installs and handle inquiries at RGM’s growing headquarters in Austin, TX.

  • Diagnose and solve software and hardware problems for Mac laptops, desktops and accessories, as well as iOS devices, LAN, printers, fax machines, and Asterisk telephone systems;
  • Evaluate internal customer’s needs and make recommendations for upgrades;
  • Support and upgrade the existing Mac OS X Server infrastructure throughout the enterprise;
  • Maintain and support various administration and support technologies such as Casper, DeployStudio, Munki and Reposado; 
  • Track the inventory of installed systems and equipment in the Austin & London offices;
  • Support audio/visual and video conferencing systems;
  • Responsible for adds, moves, and changes of user machines and office support equipment (printers, copiers, wireless network equipment);
  • Write documentation on the systems and equipment maintained by the help desk team, as well as clear and concise how-to guidance for users;
  • Keep up with the latest developments in IT support and identify opportunities for the team to streamline workflow and/or adopt improved methods; and
  • Support a user base ranging from novice/switcher to advanced/expert.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Well-organized, self-starter with excellent customer service skills;
  • Must have 2+ years expert level, professional experience troubleshooting Apple hardware and software issues;
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain good rapport with your customers;
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux including scripting/coding;
  • Comfortable working with Windows XP and/or Windows 7 client in a VM environment;
  • Knowledge of XP or Server 2003/2008 experience is a plus;
  • Must have excellent verbal/written communication, analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Experience with Google Apps administration and/or Postini administration is a plus;
  • Experience negotiating and working with external vendors and third parties;
  • Able to discern the importance and impact of needs as they change from one moment to the next and prioritize or re-prioritize accordingly;
  • Enterprise level support experience is a plus;
  • Experience supporting C-level executives is a plus;
  • Asterisk phone systems experience is a plus.



Certifications:

Apple Certified Macintosh Technician - preferred
Apple Certified Technical Coordinator - a plus
Apple Certified Help Desk Specialist - a plus
