Job description

Our Administrative Services Division specializes in the creative development, strategic implementation and effective communication of employee benefit programs. Our Administration Director will lead the Account Management Team in partnering with our clients as part of their Human Resources team to assist them with the ever-changing world of employee benefits, bringing the client all that is necessary to meet or exceed the client's goals regarding their employee benefits program.

 

The Administration Director is responsible for managing, training, and leading the Account Management Department. The Account Management Team provides complex client service functions, i.e., assisting the clients in dealing with complicated benefit questions, evaluating proposals, advises clients of available options, COBRA administration, and manages the entire renewal process.  It is imperative that our Administration Director develops strong relationships with client and carrier representatives by responding promptly to client questions and requests, voice and e-mail messages.


The ideal candidate takes initiative and ownership with assigned projects; follows through on all aspects of assignment, initiates reminders for information needed to complete tasks, communicates with management throughout the process, and reports back with conclusion. Should be able to work independently on multiple projects and anticipate critical due dates.

Desired Skills and Experience

Department Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Manage Train and Lead The Account Management Department
  • Demonstrates knowledge of all lines of coverage for each client, (medical, dental, life, AD&D, LTD, STD, Vision, EAP, voluntary coverages, etc.)
  • Develops good knowledge of carrier administration guidelines (pre-ex, waiver of premium, COBRA, HIPAA, billing, conversion, etc)
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to Core Benefits compliance requirements regarding HIPAA.
  • Prepares, distributes, and follows up on carrier RFP’s and evaluates their proposals.
  • Prepares and/or assists Broker in preparing benefit and financial exhibits for presentation
  • Assists Broker with or coordinates and conducts carrier/client meetings.
  • Reviews all client contracts for accuracy and ERISA language
  • Analyzes and compares current exposures and develops renewal or new business specifications for marketing.
  • Conducts marketing, negotiates rates, quotes and coverage for competitiveness and accuracy.
  • Reviews and summarizes marketing results and preparation of proposals.
  • Finalizes proposals and presentations in coordination with appropriate broker
  • Reviews policies and contracts for accuracy.
  • Obtains and manages all necessary paperwork for implementation of new client or renewal coverage.
  • Understands employee benefits thoroughly, including plan designs, legislation governing plans and any emerging trends.
  •  Makes client group presentations as needed.
  • Assists Brokers with special projects as requested
  • Attends training to continually perfect proficiency in employee benefits industry

 

Qualifications

Prefer 5 years of related brokerage, benefits consulting and/or carrier experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Ability to use advanced features of MSOffice applications required (Excel, Word, Power Point, ect.)
Life and Disability License required
CEBS, HIAA, CLU designation or current enrollment preferred

Familiarity with ZyWave applications preferred

An outgoing and courteous customer service oriented personality is an absolute must!
