Network Engineer III (Job Number:307964)


The Performance Engineer will collaborate with other engineers and team mates in providing analysis for any type of application and will excel in Java, .NET, websphere, and database environments. The Performance Engineer will monitor using OPNET AppInternals ( previously called OPNET Panorama ) system and application metrics within each server, across all application tiers to detect performance and behavior anomalies. The Performance Engineer will analyze OPNET AppInternals relationships among metrics, highlighting the corresponding causal connections between components, resources, and behavior to perform root cause analysis. The Performance Engineer will be able to troubleshoot complex software frameworks and operating systems of modern servers to extract vast amounts of performance and forensic data to support all aspects of APM from the server perspective.

The Performance Engineer will be able to analyze application code as it executes and assemble a complete picture of a transactions path across tiers for near real-time and historical analysis. The Performance Engineer will also be able to accelerate troubleshooting by rapidly pinpointing code-level root causes of application performance problems in multi-tier data center and site deployed applications, detect application performance problems earlier, ensure the performance of business transactions, ensure successful application deployments, and monitors and analyzes performance metrics across application tiers, including the application infrastructure, middleware, portals, database, OS/VM, web services, Java, and .NET.

Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a related field plus a minimum of 4 years of engineering experience. 8 years of experience in lieu of degree. Minimum 2 years working experience in Panorama now called AppInternals is required. Strong analytical skills to assist in managing resolution of complex application problems arising in the infrastructure environment. Experience working effectively as part of a team. Excellent oral and written communications skills, as well as good interpersonal skills to deal with multiple contractor and government organizations.

U.S. Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance or currently hold a secret clearance.
