Job description

Hyland Software is searching for a Licensing Manager to join our Office of the CEO. This position manages, at a strategic level, the processes and procedures surrounding the licensing of our software and makes day to day licensing decisions as required.  Additionally, it assists in managing special or strategic projects as required by the Vice President of Strategy, CEO or COO.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance on and decisions involving day to day licensing situations, including formal documentation of those questions and answers
  • Provide assistance to the Sales Department and Legal Department around special pricing models, OEM offerings, and other projects as required
  • Manage and maintain all current and past software license and service pricing models, tools and documentation
  • Understand software licensing dependencies and requirements; understand independent technology vendor relationships and models associated thereof
  • Network with strategic Value Added Resellers to gather feedback, including attending the semi-annual Partner Advisory Council meetings
  • Work closely with Executive Management to determine strategic vision for licensing and the communication of that vision
  • Oversee committees and teams responsible for the creation, approval and vision of our licensing
  • Seek innovative pricing and licensing models that could accelerate sales and or boost revenue; perform ad-hoc analysis of current and proposed licensing models; research competitive licensing models as requested
  • Assist in special or strategic projects as requested by the Vice President of Strategy, CEO or COO
  • Provide support to the Acquisitions Team as it pertains to licensing of Hylands software or the software of the acquired company

Desired Skills and Experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years' experience in software licensing and pricing
  • Strong communication skills, excellent organizational skills, exceptionally detail oriented
  • Must possess well developed critical thinking skills and be able to make quick decisions with little to no guidance
  • Ability to quickly evaluate the level of risk associated with a decision and ensure that the decision made is defensible
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and discretion
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
