Job description

We currently have an opening for a full time Senior Biostatistician. In that position, the Senior Biostatistician will:

  • Provide Team Leadership in all aspects of Statistical science including; Protocol development, Statistical analysis, Manuscript preparation and report writing,
  • Meet with clients and investigator for development of new business and/or research and contribute to proposal development;
  • Develop, implement and oversee the implementation of statistical analysis plans;
  • Write sections of scientific manuscripts (alone or in collaboration with others) suitable for peer review. This may include papers describing clinical/epidemiologic or methodological investigations;
  • Supervise junior statistical staff;

Desired Skills and Experience

  • PhD with a minimum 5 years of related experience beyond PhD program or a Master degree and 10 years of related experience;
  • Knowledge of statistical methodology and analysis (especially clinical trials); • Ability to write sections of collaborative manuscripts and/or full papers;
  • Proficiency in SAS and R; Bayesian analysis desirable; working knowledge of Matlab, Python, Java, Perl helpful;
  • Excellent communication skills---both oral and written;
  • Experience working on project teams;
  • Ability to communicate directly with investigators both inside and outside of NERI on matters related to study design and results, select appropriate statistical methods and conduct complex analyses;
  • Exhibited record of publications.
