Department - Collections Operations The Director - Collections is responsible for the effective leadership, portfolio management and performance of assigned sites that result in obtaining Company and Collection financial objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Understand and demonstrate the principles of the Company’s Mission, Vision and Values.

• Provide direction and leadership to collection management and associates in assigned sites. Partner with Human Resources and Organizational Learning to support recruitment, retention and training initiatives. Build teams and relationships that foster a high performance environment and establish associate recognition programs that build morale and drive performance.

• Assist with preparing Internal Call Center financial budgets. Create and/or monitor activity reports and financial statements to identify trends taking a proactive approach with the Vice President - Collections to attain financial objectives.

• Partner with Vice President - Collections to develop and implement strategic initiatives that improve profitability through cost reduction, process improvement, revenue growth, strategy diversification, and resource alignment. Provide strategic planning for site operations, while partnering on dialer and campaign strategies implementing both process and system improvements though collaborative efforts and strong relationships with internal and external business units.

• Analyze operating and portfolio management processes, principals and related data to identify opportunities to implement efficent manual, dialer, tactical or specialized portfolio management strategies of the book.

• Ensure sites maintain knowledge and compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations.

• Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures including Code of Business Conduct and Sarbanes Oxley. • Align and syndicate cross-functional initiatives with impacted departmental leaders.

• Complete special projects and initiatives as necessary.

Desired Skills and Experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or related field or equivalent experience leading multiple Call Center operations required.

• Experience: Minimum seven years’ experience in Collections - Call Center management required with strong working knowledge of collection operations, financial statements, P&L management, performance batch-track and KPI performance creation and implemetation. Minimum three years’ experience providing leadership in a mid to large size company with 550 plus associates that includes leadership teams, technical support staff and client liaison. Internal Dialer and Collections Operations experience preferred.

• Language/Communication/Interpersonal: Ability to speak read and write fluent English. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on communication of channel operations. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the company. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and objectively coach associates and management through complex issues. Excellent presentation skills.

• Analytical: Strong analytical skills with ability to identify improvement opportunities, evaluate options and develop agency solutions. Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and performance dashboards that represent ideas clearly and concisely; ability to research and analyze key metrics including financial reports, portfolio performance, budget reports and other site productivity metrics. Ability to plan and execute strategies. Detail oriented with ability to organize, prioritize and work independently. Strong reasoning and critical thinking skills. Strong conflict and problem resolution skills.

• Technical: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Application, collection software and dialer technology and other telephony (Noble, Touch Star, I3 Dialer, IVR, PBX technologies. Strong project management and work-flow expierence is required. Use of BI. Ability to use and manipulate data in Excel as well as manage large amounts of data.

• Leadership: Proven people leader with ability to inspire and motivate a large team of associates. Ability to provide continuous performance feedback and encourage growth, offering professional development opportunities to staff. Demonstrated ability to formulate and execute business strategies that meet the strategic needs of the organization. Ability to work under stressful situations. Ability to lead large scale domestic, on-shore initiatives. Experience in attracting, developing and retaining talent. Strong business development skills as well ability to sell ideas and concepts.

• Other: Knowledge of FDCPA, FCRA and other federal and state statues that apply to collections. High level of personal motivation, professionalism, and integrity requiredAbility to exercise discretion and judgment.

Physical/Mental Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job and include but not limited to: sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time; standing for extended periods of time; reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction; finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers such as using a keyboard; near visual acuity with ability to decipher data on computer screen for extended periods of time; speaking and hearing within normal range, face-to-face, in front of large groups and on the phone.

Other Work Requirements Evening and weekend hours may be required. Travel, including air travel, up to 25%.
