Job description

Oversee marketing operations. Provide counsel and play a key role in meetings with senior managers in order to develop marketing strategies, plans and schedules.

  • Collaborate with and support division level and global level marketing teams and initiatives
  • Work with the sales organizations to promote PSPG portfolio of offerings and key initiatives
  • Research, analyze, track and report power generation market data, trends and drivers for the industry as a whole, selected specific market segments and emerging markets, and provide insight regarding potential impact to and / or opportunity for the NAM PSPG business.
  • Track competitor and industry news for both business trends and technology moves
  • Collect and maintain project won/loss data, trends and reports
  • Manage the development and implementation of marketing campaigns aimed at demand generation for ABB offerings in target market segments.  Manage the development of customer value based communications and advertising plans and deliverables to support these campaigns to improve sales and the Company's image.  Establish, build and maintain long-term customer relationships in order to respond effectively to customer requirements, influence decisions, provide the Company with competitive advantages and maximize profit margins.
  • Plan, coordinate and manage all internal / external trade shows and conferences including exhibit booth display, messaging, staffing and technical sessions
  • Coordinate and distribute technical papers presented at conferences/shows and printed in trade journals
  • Schedule and arrange for all print and digital media advertising, including development of creative files as needed
  • Prepare, coordinate and distribute press releases for major project wins and newsworthy technology advances
  • Explore and consider new avenues to promote our industry expertise to our customers
  • Provide input for BU, division and global newsletters promoting successes and local expertise
  • Coordinate and manage customer user’s group function and ensure an environment for valuable feedback from, and timely responses to our customers
  • Update and maintain database for users lists and site references
  • Provide input to development teams for market requirements specific to power generation
  • Support PSPG product marketing functions for US and global teams, and support roll-out of appropriate NAM campaigns globally, and appropriate campaigns developed outside NAM region locally.
  • Budget and track expenses for cost center budget and marketing activates budget
  • Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with company policy and procedures
  • Plan department staffing and training while fostering professional development of personnel
  • Promote and arrange for training of staff and provide guidance, direction, and fair and equitable treatment.  Manage and document employee performance and implement responsive actions.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Marketing; MBA or other advanced degree preferred

Minimum 15 years of relevant experience including 5 years of management experience.  Experience in the Power Generation industry preferred.
