Job description

Position Summary

The Technical Trainer is responsible for the education of internal employees and external customers who perform assembly, diagnosis and repair of automotive engines and power-train components.  Work involves facilitating, designing, developing and delivering training programs.   

 

Essential Duties &

Responsibilities

 

 

  • Conduct new hire and on-the-job training programs.
  • Design and develop new internal training programs.
  •   Promote training programs to internal and external customers.
  •  Update and maintain training schedule.
  • Attend required training classes.
  • Identify, inventory and store all Perkins specific tools.
  • Organize and maintain training areas, ensuring cleanliness and professional appearance.
  • Identify and store all training engines and training aids.
  • Inventory, lock, and secure all training department tools.
  • Promote and track sales of supplier tools.
  • Partner with Human Resources to monitor and maintain training records.
  • Distribute training certificates to all students who successfully complete training programs.
  • Coordinate and process requests for test cell data after receiving proper approval.

Desired Skills and Experience

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 3-5 years of specific vocational/technical training experience.
  • Automotive industry experience required; auto dealership repair facility experience preferred.
  • Automotive Service Engineer (ASE) certifications preferred.

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong public speaking and facilitation skills.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principals.
  • Project management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% (may include international trips)

 

 

 

  • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
