Job description

Reebok International is looking for a Senior Product Manager to be a key contributor to the Walking and Toning category’s footwear strategy and goals. This role must work cross-functionally to manage the footwear product creation process and projects from concept through design, prototype, line confirmation, go-to-market activities and commercialization.

 

Key Accountabilities:


Product Management

  • Manage / execute the product line from conception through commercialization
  • Ensure the profitability, feasibility,  and commercial and economic viability of concepts and products
  • Contribute to the formulation of the Walking and Toning seasonal footwear strategies and create seasonal range plans and briefs for compelling and marketable products that support overall category, brand and financial objectives
  • Create product presentations and support collateral for team, executives, sales conferences, and key milestone meetings
  • Request and analyze product performance report content to assess and manage to category business performance
  • Ensure a balanced and effective product assortment that meets or exceeds revenue targets; ensure global margin targets are met
  • Lead, manage, and include all appropriate functions in the range planning, product build cycle and GTM process

 

Product Positioning / Market Management

  • Ensure correct brand positioning of product lines, considering category trends, brand initiatives and competitive context
  • Build market needs, distribution considerations and account understanding into range and assortment builds
  • Work with regional hubs, GTM team, and key markets to ensure specific segmentation and local execution plans are supported
  • Define and optimize market introduction timelines and approaches for different channels of distribution
  • Lead and / or support all appropriate functions in the Go-to-Market process relating to footwear product launches and concept introductions

 

Industry, Market, and Consumer Acumen

  • Use appropriate research methods and resources to efficiently obtain current, reliable, and credible information regarding consumer trends, market trends, category trends, and retailer trends and strategies; make accurate projections and assessments of opportunities to implement new concepts, create successful range builds and validate/sell-in new product offerings
  • Analyze competitors' product, strategy, and pricing by region, market and channel to recommend strategies to optimize Reebok's category and market position

 

Financial Aptitude/Complexity management

  • Create products  that integrate technology, function, and design aesthetic and remain within cost to achieve margin targets – go-in and net
  • Accurately forecast global participation in seasonal products and ensure forecasts are maintained and updated in reporting systems
  • Resolve cost / margin issues and ensure product / design realization and execution, within budget, against the targeted Go-In-Margin, revenue, quality / pricing, and timelines to meet market requirements
  • Ensure the business unit achieves targeted financial footwear results in growth targets and revenue
  • Analyze net forecasting data to assess and validate margin projections and weighted margins
  • Ensure ranges fall within seasonal complexity targets- model and sku

 

Team leadership and management

  • Manage 2nd level team members in the Toning and Walking category
  • Coach and lead members through the product creation process supporting where needed to ensure successful range planning, product development, and GTM activities commercialization
  • Ensure all key milestones are managed to and calendar deadlines are met
  • Manage strategic and lead projects from product creation to through GTM

 

Desired Skills and Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 8-10 years related product management, merchandising, or related experience in the footwear industry; preferably with experience in the Walking footwear category
  • Knowledge of product creation process from conception to commercialization is essential
  • Must have experience traveling to overseas development offices to work on seasonal range execution
  • Must be willing to travel as needed ( domestic and international) for product development, sales conferences, market visits and product milestone meetings
  • Strong verbal/written communications skills and presentation skills are critical
  • Experience managing a small team is preferable
  • A proficient level of computer skills is required including MS Office
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to process day to day work and job activities with limited direct management
  • Must have the ability to handle several tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be detailed oriented with excellent follow through skills.
  • Must be goal driven and results oriented
  • Strong ability to consensus build and influence others
