About this job

Job description

Job Number:
1526903

Business:
GE Corporate

Business Segment:
Global Research

About Us:
At GE Global Research, we are looking for researchers like you who have an unrelenting passion for technology development.

The Thermal Systems Organization is a global organization that develops innovative, cutting-edge thermal technologies for all of GE’s businesses. Virtually every physical product GE sells is somehow limited by heat. For example, the life of jet engine blades is directly limited by the temperatures of the exotic materials used, the cost and life of LED lamps depends on the semiconductor junction temperature, and the overall achievable efficiency of an energy cycle correlates with temperature. Researchers in Bangalore, Munich, and Niskayuna have in-depth knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, system engineering, and related disciplines.

Turbine Thermal Physics and Measurements Laboratory conducts research in collaboration with GE businesses such as Aviation and Energy. Current areas of research include optical measurement systems for solids and gases, turbine heat transfer coefficient predictions, film cooling, and conjugate heat transfer, and 1D, 2D and 3D design tool development.

You will report to the Manager, Turbine Thermal Physics and Measurements Laboratory.

At GE Global Research we redefine what’s possible, finding answers to some of the world’s toughest problems. Find out more at www.ge.com/research , and connect with our technologists at http://www.edisonsdesk.com and http://twitter.com/edisonsdesk
