Community manager, tech journalist, and systems administrator. I enjoy working with and writing about Linux and open source. I have been covering the tech industry since 1999, and have been using Linux and doing systems administration for almost as long.
Right now, I'm working at the intersection of the open source community and commercial interests, trying to find ways for the community and companies to work together well. It's a fine line, but I think that finding balance is key to open source success.
Writing news, features, reviews, and tutorials, as well as technical editing and copy editing. Well-versed with XML, HTML, DocBook, and other markup languages. Apache, MySQL, OpenSSH, X.org/XFree86, Linux desktop environments (KDE, GNOME, Xfce), OpenOffice.org, GNU Bash, and standard GNU utilities.
