Writing
I will produce a manuscript by conducting research and interviews and working from supplied materials, as well as attending meetings and making revisions. While my experience and interests are varied, my copy is always suitable for your audience.
Editing
Copyediting involves reviewing a manuscript for spelling, grammar, style, and consistency, including checking the accuracy and completeness of tables, bibliographies, and footnotes. I have experience with many style manuals and also can tailor my editing to meet your in-house guidelines.
Substantive editing involves rewriting, reorganizing, and reviewing content for accuracy and logic (copyediting makes your document grammatically correct; substantive editing makes your document read better). I will ensure the proper tone and approach for your intended audience.
Consulting
I provide strategic communications consulting services to clients ranging from individuals and small businesses to U.S. and foreign government agencies and multinational corporations.
I have written about a range of subjects including travel, sports, defense, international development, music, and the environment.
For editing, I have experience with The Chicago Manual of Style, The Associated Press Stylebook, The Government Printing Office Style Manual, Modern Language Association (MLA) style, American Psychological Association (APA) style, and other guides.
And I have helped clients with blogs, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Wikipedia, and Flickr.
