In the past 13 years I've focussed on taxation of direct and indirect real estate transactions (indirect = transaction of participations in real estate funds) by connecting my acquired academic knowledge on taxation of real estate transactions (Leiden University) with the real estate practice (tax advisory at Deloitte). In the past two years, I've also focussed on the general real estate market by starting a real estate investment combination with Mr. De Kousemaeker (former Board of Directors at DTZ) and by studying at the Amsterdam School of Real Estate (MRE). I believe that this current multi-angle approach (academic, advisory and investing) adds value to the real estate market and will therefore result in substantial career- and investment opportunities in the near future, even under the present economic conditions.
