No camels is an underground “new media diplomacy” project covering the Israeli innovation culture. Supported by the Asper Institute for New Media Diplomacy and produced by students from the Sammy Ofer School of Communication at IDC Herzliya, NoCamels goes behind the scenes of this disruptive vibe, behind the minds of the people who strive to challenge the status quo of new media and high tech industries.

We propose the making of a geo-based game application which will allow turning any urban environment into a fully enabled game play zone. The players will travel the city, purchasing streets and real estate, forming groups for greater buying power and more enjoyable play. With the GPS-enabled platform of iPhone 3G or other equivalents we see a unique opportunity for creating an mobile based pervasive location-based game, featuring several levels of possible involvement and thus suitable for people with no gaming experience whatsoever. Furthermore, its design, focused on urban exploration, socialization and purchasing allows previously uninterested users to try and take part.
While others in the field of mobile gaming tend to focus on hardcore gamer audiences and on adapting the most successful video games into mobile formats, we intend to design an easy access game directly for the Mobile device.
