I am a research scientist, open source software developer, and network administrator at Univ. of Illinois at Chicago. My interest is to investigate technologies and build software to support large scale high performance distributed systems. I have developed UDT, a versatile application level UDP-based data transfer protocol that outperforms TCP in many cases, and Sector/Sphere, a cloud computing system software that supports distributed data storage, sharing, and processing.
In 2009, I founded a startup company, VeryCloud, to provide commercial services and products for UDT, Sector, and related software.
