Award-winning screenwriter, Copywriter / Marketing Consultant & Coach for Creative People
Greater San Diego Area
I've been a copywriter and associate creative director on Madison Avenue and in Paris for ad agencies Y&R, Ogilvy and Lowe, on brands including IBM, Hanes and Dr Pepper.
I recently launched a screenwriting career as I continue to offer marketing consulting and copywriting services to select clients, as well as coaching for creative professionals.
My first script, Brit or Miss, was Winner of the Comedy Category, Screenwriting Expo 2; Top 12 Finalist, Slamdance Screenwriting Competition; semifinalist, Austin Film Festival; semi-finalist, Chesterfield Writers' Project competitions.
I am represented by Caren Bohrman (The Bohrman Agency) in Beverly Hills, and manager Andrew Kersey. I've written five screenplays (comedy & romantic comedy) and am working on a sixth.
My extensive background in advertising on two continents has trained me well, both for writing and pitching my screenplays and as a copywriter/marketing consultant in the US, UK and France. Beyond writing, I help my clients refine their strategy and vision -- the story of who they are and what they want their brand to mean in the marketplace. I employ all media, including social media, to drive home my clients' messages and get them raving-fan customers.
See www.yourwriterforhire.com for samples of my copywriting and screenwriting work.
Along the way, I've also been a portrait artist, cartoonist, TV news translator/subtitle editor, musician at Disneyland Paris, English teacher in France and a street performer in New York City. I'm producing a radio show with host and TV Historian Jim Benson, on the history of television and its impact on society. (www.tvtimemachine.com)
So it's no surprise that I'm co-authoring "The Da Vinci Dilemma TM : Solutions for Multi-Talented People", offering tips, strategies, exercises, role models & support for making the most of your many gifts.
