Award-winning screenwriter and Freelance Copywriter
Greater San Diego Area
In my first life, I was a copywriter and associate creative director on Madison Avenue and in Paris in huge multinational ad agencies. Now I've gone Hollywood and turned my hand to screenwriting as I continue to support my freelance clients with my copywriting services.
My first script, Brit or Miss, was the winner of the Comedy Category at Screenwriting Expo 2, a Top 12 Finalist at the Slamdance Screenwriting Competition, and semifinalist in the Austin Film Festival and Chesterfield Writers' Project competitions.
I am represented by Caren Bohrman of The Bohrman Agency in Beverly Hills, and by manager Andrew Kersey. I've written five screenplays so far, all comedies or romantic comedies, and am at work on a sixth.
I still apply my ad background, both "in the room" pitching my screenplays and as a freelance copywriter and creative consultant for clients, ad agencies and book authors in the US, the UK and France. Check out my website at: www.yourwriterforhire.com where you'll find samples of both my copywriting and screenwriting work.
Along the way so far, I have also been a portrait artist, a cartoonist, a translator/subtitle editor, a musician at weddings, funerals and at Disneyland Paris, an English teacher in France and a street performer in New York City. I've just started producing an internet radio show with host and TV Historian Jim Benson, about the history of television and its impact on society today. (see www.tvtimemachine.com)
Considering the above, it's no surprise that I'm currently co-authoring a book of life-management advice for multi-talented people entitled "The Da Vinci Dilemma", that offers tips, strategies, exercises, role models and encouragement for making the most of your many gifts without driving yourself --and everyone around you-- crazy. Look for the website early next year and the book in the second half of 2009!
