Yogesh Malhotra is the founder of a global risk management research and advisory firm internationally recognized for thought leadership on systemic risk management for business environments characterized by radical discontinuous change events now known as 'black swans.' In 2008, AACSB International recognized his research among "exemplars" of "considerable impact on actual practice" by business faculty such as Nobel laureate works of Black and Scholes, Modigliani and Miller, William Sharpe.
He earned a PhD in Information Systems, Quantitative Methods (Statistics), and Management Controls (Accounting) with honors from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business. While a PhD fellow, he founded award-winning technology ventures whose patrons and clients have included Google, Goldman Sachs, Harvard, HP, IBM, Intel, McKinsey, Microsoft, MIT, NASA, Silicon Valley, US Air Force, US Army, US Navy, and World Bank. Prior to that he was a management consultant and global financial systems software engineer for global banks such as Bank of America and Banque Indo-Suez and big software consulting firms across USA, Hong Kong, and India.
He has taught as invited faculty in Executive Education programs at Carnegie Mellon and Kellogg and served as invited advisor to some of the world's largest governments, UN, NSF, and $100 Billion dollar global corporations across US, Europe, and Asia. He taught as Assistant Professor of Quantitative Methods at the Syracuse University where he was promoted to Associate Professor of Accounting and Information Systems in 2008. His research on systemic risk management and quantitative models of compliance is published in premier research journals and ranked by scientific studies among the world’s most influential experts in Knowledge Management.
