Yobie Benjamin’s Experience

  • SVP, Business Development & Brand President, GoodStorm

    Zazzle.com

(Privately Held; 201-500 employees; Internet industry)

    November 2007Present (9 months)

In 1999 Robert Beaver and his two sons Bobby and Jeff founded Zazzle.com, a service which enables users to create their own products. Zazzle users can create customized t-shirts, posters, mugs to stamps.

Users receive a commission on products that they sell and design themselves. In addition to working with companies such as Disney, Lucas, Fox, non-profits, and many political organizations, we also work with artists such as Maroon 5, the Black Eyed Peas, Fergie, The Who, Kiss and many others.

We have deals with the major merchandise rights holders such as Signatures and Fueled by Ramen and have distribution deals with Myspace as their preferred merchandise partner.

Zazzle is funded by Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers (the same VC firm that funded Google, Amazon.com, Genentech, Sun Microsystems, and EA) and Sherpalo Ventures (who co-invested with KPCB on Google).

In November 2007, GoodStorm.com the company I founded was acquired by Zazzle.com.

  • Volunteer (Active)

    Art For Amnesty

    (Non-Profit; 1-10 employees; Music industry)

    July 2007Present (1 year 1 month)

I am a volunteer for Art For Amnesty.

Art for Amnesty brings together international artists of all disciplines their patrons, management and friends in a collaborative effort to support Amnesty International’s work for human rights.

Hundreds of writers, playwrights, musicians, and poets have been adopted by Amnesty as Prisoners of Conscience—Vaclav Havel, Andrei Sakharov, and Paolo Coelho, among others. Artists have always valued the political freedoms Amnesty works to protect as an integral condition of their creative expression.

Art for Amnesty seeks to harness the creativity and commitment of international artists in major fundraising initiatives for the benefit of both Amnesty International and the artists.

Our last project was Instant Karma and Make Some Noise. As of last April 2008, our efforts have raised close to $3.5M for Amnesty's work. Thanks to all of our supporters.
