Product Line Manager, Cloud Computing at Sun Microsystems
Austin, Texas Area
Ynema Mangum is a product manager for cloud computing at Sun Microsystems with a focus on the ecosystem and the requirements for common subsystems of the Sun Cloud.
Besides extensive product management experience at Sun and BMC Software, Y also has deep roots in Web 2.0 and thought leadership, with experience creating and incorporating social media into traditional marketing strategies. She provides an invaluable hybrid mix of strategist, product manager and product marketer with an unbendable passion for the user experience. As an added bonus, she is certified in ITIL v3 best practices for IT.
Ynema was a panelist at SxSWi, Interactive Austin, and has produced over 100 podcasts (all downloadable on iTunes) on all kinds of technology topics. She contributed to the book PR 2.0: New Media, New Tools, New Audiences by Deirdre Breakenridge, the book Conversation and Community: The Social Web for Documentation by Anne Gentle, and is currently writing a chapter for the upcoming book Cloud Computing: Principles and Paradigms. She also contributes to CloudBook (see http://www.cloudbook.net/sun-cloud).
Ynema is a change agent. She considers herself a quiet influencer and a connector whose collaborative nature ensures success in introducing new concepts and services into the mainstream -- even in the most complex environments. She thrives on doing what seems to be impossible, and enjoys taking calculated risks in her personal life -- snowboarding, skiing, SCUBA diving or wake boarding when the season is right.
