Web Developer, Pragmatic Crusader
San Francisco Bay Area
I'm a web developer obsessed with building beautiful, pragmatic, and surprising web experiences. I've spent a number of years as a consultant wearing more hats than any man should wear. Luckily my hair line has not suffered (myth busted!)
On New Years of 2007 I moved to San Francisco in hopes of advancing my career. I spent the first year here working as a consultant using XHTML/CSS, XML, Flash, Photoshop, PHP, MySQL, Flash Video + ff-mpeg, and mod_rewrite in various projects.
In January of 2008 I started at Zivity.com where I have been focused primarily on Front-End Development writing loads of unobtrusive jQuery, valid XHTML/CSS, with extensive rails layout and view templating work!
Front End Development, Templating (Smarty/Template Toolkit, PHP, Rails, Wordpress), Cross-platform hacking, XHMTL, CSS, unobtrusive jQuery, Logistics, Problem Solving.

January 2008 — Present (9 months)
Work closely with the Director of User Experience and the Back End Developers to build cross-browser compatible web pages using XHTML, Javascript, and CSS.
Things I've Worked on:
- Worked with Design, Product, and the Rails Engineers to deploy new layouts to both the beta and public websites.
- Converted the photo set, leader board, profile, my stuff, photo set upload views from pro/taculous to jQuery.
- Minimized redundant code by making universal unobtrusive jQuery functions to do more with less code.
- Was the front-end coder on the teams responsible for the notifications, privacy, navigation, leader board, and profile friends/fans pagination features released in the summer of 2008.
Currently Working on:
- Completely overhauling the views to decrease bloat and maintain strictly unobtrusive javascript interactions and style.
- Making all of our XHTML valid.
- Implementing new features!

Moved to San Francisco 1/07 where I continued consulting and expanding my skill-set by learning WiTango, ff-mpeg, mod_rewrite, javascript, Template Toolkit, Subversion, CVS and jQuery. Some key assignments in 2007:
