Yaron Samid is an Internet entrepreneur and active tech community organizer. He currently runs Novadea, a private new media startup incubator. Yaron previously founded Pando Networks, the world's leading commercial P2P content delivery company with over 30 million users and major media customers. Prior to Pando, Yaron founded DeskSite, growing the PCTV network to over 2 million viewers and sustained profitability. Yaron has also held senior marketing and product management positions at Zend, BackWeb and Register.com.
Invited regularly to speak at industry conferences, in 2006 Yaron founded NY Video (www.nyvideo.org), an organization bringing 3,000+ web video entrepreneurs and professionals together in NYC each month to showcase and discuss web video trends. In the summer of 2007 Yaron founded TechAviv (www.techaviv.com) to connect and help fellow Israeli entrepreneurs succeed worldwide. TechAviv is the world's largest global organization of Israeli hi-tech founders and investors. Over 1,500 members, by invitation only, gather monthly in Israel, New York, Silicon Valley and Boston to showcase, discuss and help fellow Israeli hi-tech startups. The TechAviv.com blog covers the up and coming players in the booming Israeli Internet sector.
Yaron serves on the board of directors at Aprigo, Pond5 and InterMatch, the advisory boards of half a dozen startups, and is an executive committee member of the Tevel.org Angel Group.
